Peregrine Motors LLC is pleased to offer for sale our recently imported pre owned 1994 Caterham Super Seven Classic SE with the 1600 Ford Crossflow engine. We imported this Caterham from the United Kingdom. We bought this off of a Caterham enthusiast in Leeds, UK.
This was a very interesting and exciting find for us due to the cars history as well as service history. What makes this Caterham special is the fact that it was delivered new as a kit in 1994 but sat in storage unbuilt until 2007. Finally in 2007 the car was built and then registered with zero miles. So instead of a vehicle that had been on the road for 32 years it has only been on the road for 19 years. You can see in the photos that the DVLA in the UK has acknowledged this fact and we have emails from one of the previous owners that confirms this fact as well. Notes from the previous owner about the car: - 8,000 - 9,000 GBP spent on the vehicle in the last couple of years - full service history - full engine rebuild (and carburetor rebuild) - kept covered and garaged with summer driving only
Recent service history from the past couple of years:
- 7/23/2025: adjusted tracking, remove carbs and replaced spindle seals, replaced exhaust manifold gaskets, cleaned and re-oiled air filters, checked performance on dyno machine
- 9/17/2024: two new wheel cylinders, new fuel hoses, new suspension bushings
- 12/14/2022: removed engine and gearbox assembly, stripped engine and reconditioned head, honed bores and fit new piston rings, polished the crank, replaced all seals in the gearbox, stripped carbs and cleaned and rebuilt, fitted new ignition kit to the distributor
- 6/27/2022 - replaced front and rear suspension with Bilstein dampers, replaced rear A frame with center bushing, adjusted gearbox mount, changed brake fluid
- 4/11/2022: new alternator
- 1/17/2022: new battery
- 8/31/2021: new valve cover gasket, new large bore exhaust gasket set
- 2/10/2009: upgraded gearbox to a new 5-speed gearbox
