1980 Lotus Super Seven Super Sprint Additional Info:
A rare opportunity to own one of the most exciting drivers cars ever made, it is a genuine factory built Caterham and not a cheap copy made from an old Spitfire that somebody built in their shed. It is a 1992 SuperSprint model ( Ebay doesn't recognize the VIN so I had to list it as an earlier car) with the factory 1.4L Rover K series engine, 16 valve and fuel injection which revs to 7500rpm, rated around 125hp which doesn't sound like much but in a car that weighs about 1200lbs makes for an excellent power to weight ratio. This low weight also makes the stopping and cornering ability that is hard to describe, nothing puts you in touch with the road like a Caterham. This particular low mileage car has many desirable options such as the high performance stainless exhaust system with side exit, it sounds amazing from idle to redline. It has adjustable brake bias from inside the passenger compartment, quick ratio steering rack, limited slip differential, 5 speed manual box, rpm shift light, track day roll bar, high capacity aluminum radiator, 4 point harnesses, external battery cutof, 13" light weight alloy wheels with almost new very sticky performance tires. The side protection bar is removable with 3 bolts ( I just love the look of it). It does have side screens and tonneau cover for weather protection. The fenders have a carbon fiber look wrap on them which adds to the race car look, the paint shows well but there are chips and dings from 25 years of driving, this is not a show car but will turn heads everywhere you take it. I have owned several Caterham's and this one is by far the most fun to drive, the revvy, light weight engine has instant response and with the quick steering and huge grip, I can't think of many cars that could keep up with it on a twisty road, every drive is an experience! Thousands have been spent in the past few years of ownership including new LED headlights, rear lights, front brakes, new battery, coil, plugs, leads, Momo steering wheel, 4 point Caterham harnesses, carpets, aeroscreen and carbon fiber mirrors, wider rear wheels and Toyo tires (less than 200 miles on them) new full windshield. The car comes with both the aeroscreen set up and full windshield with half hood and removable side doors. I have just bought a TVR Griffith and don't have room for both so this one needs a new home. I do have a clear Ohio title for it and it is street legal! if you have any questions please let me know, thanks for looking!
