This is an Australian import 1981 Series 3 Stage 1 fitted with the Australian military Perentie engine. There were very few civilian trucks fitted with this engine (mostly geared towards the agriculture market). This is an absolutely no frills Rover. Would be the perfect platform for the dream expeditionary vehicle. The body is straight and the door bottoms look good. The door tops have some bubbly and the bulkhead looks to have been repaired at some point. The chassis looks good and the tires have loads of tread left. The interior comes with bucket seats and seatbelts. The dash top looks good and all the gauges seem to work. Has a manual glow plug warmer and push button start. R380 Tranny shifts effortlessly. The seatbox diff lock works as does the high low handle. This truck has a 3:54 Salisbury rear end. The Isuzu engine is a 3.9 ltr direct injection non turbocharged 4 cylinder diesel. The Australians put this motor in all of their military Rovers (Project Perentie) during the 80's and 90's. The actual VIN is 505358. This is a no reserve auction. Let me know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
This thing should be on the set of the next Mad Max movie.
