1990 Land Rover Defender Perentie Additional Info:
Up for auction is a low mileage 1990 Land Rover 110 form the Perentie program (Australian Military Vehicle). These special iterations of the 110 model were built on custom chassis that were reinforced, widened in the rear (to accommodate an under-mounted spare tire) and hot-dip galvanized! This truck is fitted with an uprated LT95A 4 speed transmission to handle the additional power of the bulletproof Isuzu 3.9L diesel (4BD1, as found in many commercial trucks). With 55,000 original miles, this is a low mile, low use well cared for Australian no-rust truck and we are the first civilian owners. As shown in the photos, there is one dent in the right front wing outer panel, and not a single other dent on the entire truck. This is an incredibly reliable variant of the Land Rover defender with that Isuzu diesel/LT95A engine and trans combination. It also has the Salisbury 1 ton (Dana 60) rear axle. I would not hesitate to drive this truck cross-continent. This truck is also fitted with a 24v generator in addition to the 12v alternator. The generator is hooked up to a bus box and voltage system in the carbo area where it was used to supply power to long range communication equipment. Many overland refrigerators use a 24v input, as it is a more efficient means of power supply. This truck would make a great camper with this expensive system still intact.
Doors and bulkhead are rust free. Hood frame is rust free. Frame is galvanized and rust free. This truck is beautiful, and ready to take you wherever you want to go! With either a canvas top or a single cab mounted, this is a ready to go cruiser! If the buyer is interested, after the auction is complete and funded, we can customize this truck as you would like (single color repaint, add metal roof, add turbo for the 4BD1T conversion, etc.).
We will pay open-carrier shipping to the lower 48 for an auction sale price over $18,500 US. Vehicle is located and titled/plated in Austin, TX and available for inspection.
