1989 Jeep Wrangler Additional Info:

Very nice 1989 Jeep Wrangler Sahara that is about 95% original. It only has 63000 original miles on it. I purchased it from an estate sale where it was kept in a barn for many years. I am an automotive instructor at a local Tech College so I used this for demonstrations on rebuilding multiple parts. It runs and drives perfect. There are a few minor details that can be addressed or you can drive it like it is. Since it had been sitting unused I pulled the engine and resealed with all new gaskets. I did have to replace the oil pan as the drain plug had been cross threaded at some point in the past. Carb was fully rebuilt and tuned. All belts and hoses including fuel, radiator, and heater hoses were replaced. Radiator had a core leak so I had it replaced with a NEW BRASS AND COPPER CORE, just like the original, no plastic crap here(cost $400 for core). All fluids and filters have been replaced. New brakes all the way around. 5 New BF Goodrich 30x9.50x15 tires on OE wheels (the original 215/75r15 Wranglers are non existent). NON of the wiring has been cut inside or out. I pulled the dash apart to clean all the dust out of the heater and ac system. All the gauges, even the clock, work. Radio works, but cassette is untested, try findinga cassette tapenow days. The interior is all there except the carpet and console.Previous owner at some time in the past had a bed liner sprayed in it. I don't have the carpet or the OE console. There is an aftermarket console in it that I had just laying around. The seats could use a good cleaning but no rips. Clutch is new, as is slave cylinder. Transmission was torn apart and resealed. New synchronizers and bearing installed. It had some wear on the reverse gears (as all BA10-5's do). I could not locate any NOS gears and did not want to use aftermarket china crap so I reused them. Sometimes if you build speed in reverse it will try to pop out of gear. I hold my hand on the shifter and it does fine. You can fix orleave it alone. The transfer case was fully rebuilt with new bearings, seals, synchronizer, and a chain. Both axles were inspected and new fluid installed. 4wd works flawlessly and front axle disconnect works great. The fuel tank was removed and cleaned, sending unit works.

THERE IS NO ROT INSIDE OR OUT, ONLY SURFACE RUST ON SOME OF THE BARE PARTS. BODY IS STRAIGHT AND HAS NO DENTS.OE PAINT...ONLY ISSUE WITH BODY IS OWNER INSTALLED AN OVERHEAD RACK AND DRILLED 4 HOLES ABOUT TAILLIGHTS FOR MOUNTS. I REMOVED MOUNTS BUT STILL HAVE THEM IF YOU WANT. OTHER THAN THAT BODY IS READY TO PAINT. SEE PICS.

Now the other.

Jeep was originally a hard top but the top was not with it when purchased. It does have a Bestop Super Top for full doors. I assume this is because of the pre-mentioned overhead rack. I have the ragtop in garage and did not install it for pictures. It is solid except for a few threads loose on rear window zipper. I have the OE tire cover but it will not fit the new spare, it also needs sewing. Emblem on right rear is missing. I have one ordered as of this listing. I also have a new shift boot, spare tire stop, and wing nut for air cleaner ordered. They will be installed before this listing is over. The exhaust is new, it has a Flowmaster installed. The Pulse air system was removed. I have all the parts except the air tubes for that system. The AC works, but it does need a charge. There is only about a pound in it per my gauge set, but it is ORIGINAL R12! I just haven't ordered any as I like riding with the top off.
