I have a 1974 jeep Wagoneer Custom that I purchased with intentions on restoring and now wish to sell. Absolutely a great find for anytrue Jeep guy that doesn't want to deal with rust repairs...
This is certainly one of the most solid Wagoneers on the East Coast. It still has the original paint and the body is super solid with virtually no rust.In fact, the floor pans still have the original colored body paint on them. This was originally aNevada Jeep that was shippedto the east coast.
It is a Quadratrac with the 401 engine and an automatic transmission. Since it was a western Jeep, it has factory AC. You can easily decode the VIN to know that it was a Wagon Custom with the 401 Option.
This is an excellent starting point for somebody to make a show Wagoneer, or keep it as is and use itfor a cool driver both on and off the road.
There is now 146k and the401engine has been rebuilt before I got it at 121k; it is a stock rebuild according to invoice. It starts and runs very nice. Beyond that, I had some of the mechanicals refreshed on it to make it more reliable. Of course, I have replaced the normal items, such as starter, alternator, voltage regulator, ignition switch, tires, brakes, battery and vacuum lines. I've also replaced the windshield and some interior components such as carpet and headliner.
Anyway, with the purchase price, shipping, and work done I have over $15,000 in it. I am asking $10,000 for it but am open to REASONABLE offers. I know that this is a rare findwith original paint, a solid body, the 401 engine and the AC option - especially on the east coast.
Please understand that I am not trying to represent this as a show vehicle. It is simply a very solid survivor from 1974. There are some fluid drips, some interior wear, some touch-up spots, some paint fade on the roof and hood, and some dings here and there. But it remains an extremely solid survivor from 1974. I'm sure there are very few left in this original condition. Still, it isnot perfect and could use some details, such as a dash pad. Please contact me with any specific questions regarding condition.
This is a 43 year old vehicle that is mostly in original condition, so it is obviously being sold as-is, without any warranty.
