Very early Jaguar Mark 2 Mark ii Mk 2 Mk ii. Matching numbers. Engine is the original 3.8 (serial number: LA 1395 - 8), as specified on the plate riveted to the engine wall. Borg Warner automatic transmission (J3B 5572), also matching, appears to have just been rebuilt. Car is complete, disassembled, with many parts in good to exceptionally good condition. Doors, trunk (boot) lid, hood (bonnet), fender skirts (spats), fuel tank door, spare well cover plate, all excellent and not rusted or dented. Chrome 72-spoke wire wheels (5) in reasonably good condition, none dented or out of true. All glass excellent. Headlights, tail lights, other lamps good. Truly excellent chromed (or stainless) window frame pieces on the doors.Bumpers very good. Has desirable, rare reclining-type front seats, with near-perfect large chrome escutcheons. All metal seat parts included. Some rust, limited to core body, not penetrative in structural or difficult to repair places (details follow:). Rust in one rocker panel (below driver's side doors), on driver's floor, and in spare tire well, to be corrected with included replacement parts from donor car (photos), or by available aftermarket parts. Body work remains to be done on fronts of front fenders (minor; no evidence of any substantial collision) Fender lips, struts, and "crow's feet" not rusted or damaged. Car rolls and steers, could be dollied. Engine always stored indoors at full oil level, turns freely, other condition details not known. SU carbs, manifolds, distrib., other ancillaries included. This very early Mark 2 (serial number: 210 292B) is the 292nd made in a long production run of tens of thousands of this model (1959-1967; began in August 1959); this car was made between Labor Day and Halloween of that year. Wire brush wheel or light sandblasting would be sufficient for rust removal, except for specific repair areas mentioned above. Please contact for further information or additional photos, will respond promptly. I am not aware of anything missing except grille badge and "leaping cat" on hood (this car appears to have been delivered to France, where those were not legal), will verify presence of particular parts upon request. Bill of sale only. Inspection encouraged. Prefer local pickup, but would cooperate fully with shipping. Flexible on time of buyer's taking possession, subject to modest monthly storage fee.More:Grille: chrome excellent; one dime-sized scuff in lower corner of main surround; all verticals straight; separate center vane needs repair or replacement; badge not presentLarge array of trim, decorative, and other parts are included, v. good condition.Rocker panel piece, driver's floor, and spare wheel well bottom, from donor car are includedInterior wood and trim panels complete, some in good condition, some wood may need re-veneer.Flip-down picnic trays good, re-veneer not neededSplines very good, both wheels and hubs.Fender wells have minimal rust (one or two localized patchable spots, may see in photos)Steering wheel and horn ring in good conditionSome rust in "tail" of one rear fender, straightforward repairRust on driver's floor and in spare tire well are from puddled water, not from salty or humid environment.
