1971 Jaguar E-Type Additional Info:
This all original car is a reliable daily driver at a condition level closer to Excellent than Good. It would also be a great head start for a Concourse restoration. It's not one of those cars that was left outside with the windows open for years. The engine was seized and has been fully rebuilt. The drivetrain, suspension, electrical, etc. have all been gone over and in drive way condition. It would be a great weekend car as it stands. It was painted about 5 years ago and it's in good condition but to be a top of the line show car it needs to be repainted, trim work, and an overall re-fresh of the car front to back. It's all original never had an accident. You get what you see, a clean good running straight car. The current second owner is a Certified Jaguar Mechanic who has owned it for about 10 years. He bought it from the original owner who was a fellow now retired shop Forman from a now defunct Northern NJ Jaguar dealership. It was sitting in his garage for about 25 years so this car has not traveled more than 10 miles in the last 10 years and probably not much more than that in the last 35!!!
This car runs like new. Usually when you start these things you have to do it in a well ventilated area and wait for the smoke to clear. The rebuilt engine (heads, rings, rods, bearings, pistons, guides the works) has 0 miles on it and there's not a wisp of smoke to be seen from the instant it starts. All the chrome is original and 98-100%. All new Gaskets, hoses and belts all around. AC works but will probably need a charge. All the glass is perfect and the headliner is brand new. Original Exhaust, Brakes, Interior finishes, leather, etc.but absolutely no sun/heat stressed dashboard or interiorparts.
You'll note I do respond to all offers but Dealers, Wholesalers, and Lo-ballers, we appreciate all the interest but I'm sure you'll understand this is a "retail offering". You will see the Haggerty's current value is between $38K and $48K this is definitely between good and excellent condition. There is some flexibility but my price is fair and within the Market value of the car. The reliable knowledge of the history takes this car will not be included with most of the vehicles you'll find out there.
The car is located in Hawthorne NJ and available to be seen anytime with an appointment. Stop by, start her, drive her, buy her. But of course all sales are final, no warranty expressed or implied, transaction is "as-is" "where-is" with buyer arranged and paid shipment only after 100% of the funds have been established as cleared. Bill of Sale for the "As-Is" transaction provided with Clear NJ Title ready for you to transfer ownership. I am listing it for the current owner so let me know what your thoughts are and I will connect you. Jim (201) 213-3588, text or email preferred. The car is being offered locally so this post is subject to termination at any time.
