1975 International Harvester Other Harvester 150 Additional Info:

1975 International Travelall Harvester 150

One of the most interesting facts about the IH company is when and how it came into existence. J.P. Morgan pulled a total of five companies together. These manufacturers were successful in the agricultural and machine products industries. Together they formed International Harvester (IH) in 1902. The company built trucks and pickups from 1907 to 1975. They designated the first trucks to roll off the line as the Model A Wagon but nicknamed them the Auto Buggy. Packing a potent 15hp engine with high ground clearance, the truck garnered favorable reviews. It became the perfect vehicle for navigating the poor road conditions common at the time.

Let's pony up the latest offering from the last year these Classic Beauties were produced, that being 1975. This Travelall 150 is an original, with loads of options and conveniences, new paint, original glass, and a good runner to boot. A gem if you will, and all original well-preserved interior is icing on the cake.

Exterior
Stripped to bare metal, any rust remediated, then painted in its original factory color of gold, although it has a persistent green hue to it, which is pure 1970's color. (Think Avocado Appliances?) With its side trim, which is a custom exterior package option and is reminiscent of a faux panel, and surrounding remaining trim as accenting pieces, all appear in good condition with some pitting and slight corrosion. A shiny roof rack, tow package, tinted glass, electric rear window which functions flawlessly, and 4-wheel snow tires topped with standard IH wheel covers, this is a fab truck.

Interior
All original, and mostly flawless save for a few marks here and there, but you'll have to look closely. Sage vinyl, a padded, buttoned door panel motif, and clean door panels are seen upon entering this mid 70's world. The custom trim interior package includes seats in the form of 2 front buckets, and a rear bench. These are covered in what can only be described as a glossy curly cue pattern with a slightly darker matte background, buttoned, for the inserts, and smooth vinyl bolsters. The original carpet is very clean considering its age and is amazingly not faded. Original factory air which blows cold, original radio and clock, still functioning beautifully, and a factory installed trailer brake are there as well. Looking to the front we see the original dash, with all working and lighted instruments. Headliner is an off white tight with a few areas of soiling but mostly unremarkable, and below in the cargo area is a speckle patterned rubber mat, and padded vinyl interior wheel well and side panel coverings, all unmarred.

Drivetrain
The original 392ci V8, topped with an original Thermoquad 4-barrel carburetor, and backed by an A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission. The transmission has its own cooler and noted is a Dana rear with 3.73 gears.

Undercarriage
A few spotty areas of surface rust, but mostly rustproofed covered steel, straight, and structurally sound. New shocks and shiny mufflers are noted in this overall clean environment.

Last year of production, and it is well optioned, fully operational, a smooth runner, and comfortable and functional interior, this could be a great woods, cabin or vacation home knockabout vehicle, and the way it has been preserved and taken care of, has plenty of life left in her. All manuals and original line sheet will come along with it after the purchase. A "gold" nugget of early SUV-ing."
