1973 International Harvester 1210 Custom Additional Info:
Total nut and bolt restoration. Everything was stripped and rebuilt from the ground up. As most of you can tell we changed the front sheet metal to the later 74-75’ style. The truck started out as a 1973, 1210 Travelette 2WD. Purchased from flagstaff Arizona where it spent its whole life, and had absolutely zero rust! We changed the drivetrain to 4WD from a 1975 3/4 ton International, so it now has front disc brakes and a gear ratio of 4.10, added a NV4500, 5 speed transmission that has overdrive, retained the original front and rear sway bars, changed the rear springs from a 95’ GM 3/4 ton which are 12” longer so the ride quality is much better. We also searched extensively for the optional equipment available from that era to add to the truck, NOS cab marker lights, NOS lock-o-matic hubs, NOS radiator, NOS seat material, high back bucket seats with fold down armrests, factory under dash map light, factory equalizer hitch and trailer brake system and factory front tow loops! For safety purposes we installed shoulder belts in the front. It has GM fold out trailer mirrors and a GM Hydrovac brake system that works great. The engine is a V392 from the 75’ truck, bored .060 with a Schneider RV cam and has a Quadrajet on top with 2-1/2” stainless exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers. The A/C has been converted to R134 with a new Sanden style compressor. It has a center console with front and rear cup holders and used it to occupy the front speakers, power outlet and heated seat controls. We traded the the steering wheel out for a 1980 Scout wheel. It has a set of Ram running boards and Hummer H2 chrome wheels with a new set of 285/70R17 BF Goodrich All-terrain Tires. This truck was heavy duty from the factory showing a GVW of 9300lbs. Truck shows 45000+ miles and are believed to be correct. You’ll be the best of show when you take it to the Scout Nationals! Runs and drives great, you won’t find a better one out there!
