1979 Ford Mercury Monarch Additional Info:
1979 Mercury Monarch coupe. One Owner (comes with the original title) prior to me purchasing. 24,441 original and correct miles. Owner pasted away and family sold the vehicle.
The car is all original (excluding tires and maintenance items). All original paint with no rust. The Monarch was purchased on June 23, 1979 and while parked on the showroom floor of the Ford Mercury dealer in West Plains, Missouri by H.D. Walesky. This vehicle was to be his last vehicle and was always his baby. It was always garage and rarely driven. Pictured is the original paperwork and original title. Additionally, there's a folder with many of the annualregistrations documents.
The Monarch still has the original exhaust and brakes, including the original muffler which will probably need to be replaced at some point soon. If the buyer wants, the also vehicle comes with the original 14 inch wheels, beauty rings, lugs and center caps. Original wheels are mounted on like new radial tires, but are many years old.
After looking across the country for many years for a near perfect original Monarch or Granada, I found this one within a couple hours in Missouri. My intentions were to install a high performance 351 SBF and have a cool daily (sleeper) driver. I purchased the aftermarket wheels and tires seen in the pictures and built SBF engine, but that's as far I really got as I DIDN'T have the heart to turn this classic into a hot rod. I decided to leave it stock and I've enjoyed driving on nice days just the way it was.
The Monarch is in near perfect original condition. The original FORD factory muffler will need to be replaced someday soon. The original paint is near perfect, but it's been almost two years since it was waxed. The original vinyl top has a bottom seam that needs to be tuck back under the trim. Otherwise, this vehicle could be taken to car shows and or put back on a showroom.
Please email or call with any questions. Please don't ask me to end the auction early, except for the "Buy it Now". It's not fair to the other bids to end the auction early for any other reason. The reserve is lower than the Buy it Now.
Thank you for looking, Chris 816.590.7660.
