Original Drivetrain Project

Rare 1956 F-250 with desirable big rear window option. Original 272 Y-block V8 paired with the T98 4-speed manual transmission. Truck runs and drives but would benefit from tuning and cosmetic finishing.

Great candidate for restoration, patina build, or preservation project. Strong character and presence, these big window trucks are getting harder to find.

Typical age-related wear and rust consistent with an unrestored truck. Drip rail, door bottom, cab corners rust present (common on these trucks), brakes need to be rebuilt but do work. Motor turns right over and runs strong, transmission shifts fine. Differential seems okay, may need service. Carburetor works well but could benefit from a rebuild or at least a new gasket. Hood latch needs to be lubricated or replaced, appears seized.

Overall a solid project with potential.
