1950 Ford F5 COE MARMON HERRINGTON 4x4 USDA forestry service vehicle. Body off frame Resto. 12k original miles on vehicle before body offf frame RestoCurrently 30 miles on Resto.Correct Flathead v8 for 1950 with stroker kit, MSD ignition conversio, 12v conversion and alternator conversion, headers, all upgrades done to improve drivability. All brake master and wheel cylinder, booster, clutch wiring etc were restored. Truck steers and drives very nicely for the year. The 4cyl air cooled Wisconsin motor on the back is rebuilt and functioning. This motor drives the pump for the fire equipment. The original widow maker rims had the centers popped out and placed on one piece 20 inch hoops. They are now a new style rim that looks just like the originals. This wheel modification was alot of work. But worth it for this particular truck Please see the correct USDA Porcelain style FIRE placards front and rearPlease see correct vintage red lights at top of windshield and the correct restored CAM siren on the pass fender. The white canvas cover for the top basket received a painstaking recreation …. This cover was a lot of work and it looks amazing!
Please also notice the 2 matching 1950 Mall chain saws (same year as truck) that were museum restored all the way down to the correct stickers … and hard mounted to the truck for display. These chainsaws alone deserve their own show space …. Also notice correct Indian backpack pump mounted up on the deck
Please notice the correct reproduction usda warning sticker on dash as well….. all Marmon Herrington plates are present. Along with vin tag in glovebox door
The history of this truck is known from its Original station post in the. Modoc National forest to its current owner.
I’m sure I’ve forgotten somethin, so ask questions pleaseVehicle is sold as is where is.Full payment in 3 days from end of auction by bank wireWill hold truck for you for 1 month from end of. Auction …After that we can make arrangements if necessary
These vehicles were ordered by the USDA FORESTRY SERVICE as a cab and chassis only … upon delivery the USDA fabrication dept in Monrovia ca created the rear fire body. They had 2 types of rear bodies …. Rear seat behind the cab and rear seat over the rear axle…. From all the research myself and other retired and experts in the forest service historyThis is the Last 4x4 green hornet with rear seat over axle configuration in existencePlan on your local forestry service station wanting to partner with you on events and fundraisers …. This is on top of regular car shows…. Additionally you may opt to take the class offered by UDSA on getting the official license to own and wear the SMOKEY BEAR costume. It’s the last one like it
Good luck bidders
