1952 Ford Other Pickups Additional Info:
This 1952 Ford F-5 Marmon Herrington project, and is equipped witha running 239 flathead V-8, a4 speed transmission, and a M-H All Wheel Drive system, with a two speed transfer case,12 volt conversion, and power brakes. The entire Hydro-Vac brake system has been rebuilt or replaced. Also, the truck has new seat covers. This truck began service as a brush fire engine in Monroe Township, MI, and was used to fight seasonal wildland fires. When I bought the truck it had just under 39K miles on it, but did not come with the fire engine "bed".
A F-5with a 134" wb, is designedto take a 9' factory flatbed, which are difficult to locate in CA.I came across a 1953 Ford 9' step side bed, which fit the frame. I had this bed camouflaged for the 1952 F-5, by swapping the rear fenders and tailgate from a 1952 bed, and fabricating long running boards. It came out looking like a really tough pick up, especially, with the interesting 18" Goodyear rims. The rims are two-piece,thathave a rim base weigh of43.8 lbs, the side rim weighs 12.1 lbs, for a total of 55.9 lbs per rim. The tires are olderFirestone all terrain.
Any rust issues have been addressed, but this is a running project. Doors and hood open and close easily. Theredis the factory color, but there are small dents, and blemishes to be dealt with, if your looking for a show truck. The door glass has cracks, but the other glass is good.I plan on taking the truck to the Pomona Swap meet on March 5th, so the truck is for sale locally. Feel free to ask any questions.
