289 V-8 COUPE PROJECT
from

If you have ever wanted a 67 Mustang Coupe project that was affordable.

This is the car.

We picked the car up after it was left for too long in a storage yard and we have the lien sale paperwork which will allow you to obtain a clear title. If you would like us to get that from the DMV, please allow an extra 3 to 4 weeks.

This is an original V-8, 289 “C” code car, with 5 lug suspension both front and rear. Call us if you need a different engine or transmission, no problem we have most kinds, and are available separately at very reasonable prices.
This was originally a Dark Blue Mustang, but you can paint it any color you like.

We have included some pictures of other Mustangs at the end of the photos below showing how the car might look when finished.

The 1967 Mustang is one of the most popular years of the first five years of Mustang.
When fully restored, this car will easily sell for $20,000 or more.

BODY:
There is some rust around the rear window, but that can be patched. The trunk lid is rusty, a new trunk lid only cost $150. There is also some minor damage in the front which will need to be repaired. If you are new to the restoration process, we can coach you through all the steps. Overall this Mustang is a great candidate for a qualityse restoration.

INTERIOR:
The interior will need a little work, and it is really the easiest part of the restoration. The good news is that you can see what is needed. You aren’t accepting someone else’s mistakes or bad repairs.
All the wiring, instrument panel, seats, etc. will come with the car but will need to be restored.
Both front buckets seats will need to be reupholstored, and we can sell you anything you need for redoing the interior. The rear seat was out of the car when we took the pictures, but we can include it with the car. The door panels and dash pad are included, but you will probably want new ones anyway.

ENGINE BAY:
Engine bay is in great condition. The original numbers matching 289 and automatic transmission are still in the car. If you get the engine rebuilt, you may want to consider using new aluminum heads to increase the power and lighten the car. Never the less, you should plan on having the engine rebuilt to accept modern unleaded gas. If you want to upgrade, a 302 or 351 Windsor will drop right in, and the original 289 can be used as a core.

Please contact us separately for recommendations on where to find the engine you want.

BRAKE SYSTEM:
The mustang has front and rear drum brakes. They are intact and complete. If you would rather have front disk brakes, we can add those for $1,500.

GLASS:
The windshield is missing, and you will need a new one. The cost is usually around $175. The rest of the glass will be included, but there may be nicks or scratches which can be fixed or replaced.

MISC.
The Mustang comes with everything shown in the pictures, and most all of its parts. We are a Scott Drake dealer so we can help you with any new parts you may need at a substantial discount. At MustangBeginnings we are here to help you make your restoration a success. Please contact us if you have any questions.

WE HAVE 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK AND PLAN TO KEEP IT THAT WAY! THERE ARE NO SURPRISES HERE, I ENCOURAGE ALL THOSE WHO BID TO COME SEE THE CAR FIRST IF POSSIBLE OR SEND SOMEONE HERE TO INSPECT IT. WE HAVE COMPLETED OTHER 67 MUSTANGS AND KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO COMPLETE THIS CAR. THIS IS A GOOD CAR TO START WITH. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS A 67 MUSTANG THAT NEEDS TO BE REBUILT INTO SOMETHING SPECIAL.
AGAIN, WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ALL BIDDERS TO CHECK THE CAR OUT IF POSSIBLE THAT WAY THERE ARE NO MISUNDERSTANDING, MISTAKES, MISCOMMUNICATION, AND ALL THE OTHER MISES.
THE CAR MIGHT NEED THINGS WE DID NOT LIST BUT THE MAJOR ONES HAVE BEEN LISTED. WE PUT THE WORD “PROJECT” IN THE DESCRIPTION TO COVER ANYTHING WE MIGHT HAVE NOT SEEN. WE HAVE THE CAR FOR SALE LOCALLY AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY.

To answer many of your questions, we took additional pictures and would like everyone to understand that this is a project Mustang.

It does not run and drive. The 289 V-8 engine and C-4 Automatic transmission are in the car, and are connected to the rear end. The engine is missing its valve covers, but we will provide a set before the car ships. It is also missing the air cleaner. We have some used air cleaners, but you may want buy a new one. The radiator is also missing, but we always recommend installing a new radiator after an engine has been rebuilt. The floor pans are actually in pretty good shape, as you can see from the pictures, but there are a couple of rust areas that will require patching. Both sides of the roof show evidence for exterior rust along the seam, and will require patching and repairing on the outer layer. The lower quarters also have rust spots in the normal areas, which will need attention, but a whole new quarter does not seem necessary. You will need a new truck lid, but they are not expensive (approx. $140), and there is rust around the rear window that will need to be restored. You will also need a new lower front cross member, and radiator support, but again, not that expensive. (approx $141).Although there is some rust in the normal areas,Overall this car is a pretty easy restoration for those that know what to do, and can weld in the new pieces. If you have any additional questions, please make sure to ask before the end of the auction. If you would like to inspect the car, it is located near Monterey, California. Just please let us know you are planning a visit before you start driving.
