1929 Ford Model A Additional Info:
This is an all-original Ford Model A Standard Roadster with Rumble Seat
I inherited this car from my father in 2007. He acquired the car from a collector in Utah roughly two decades ago. We spent several years refurbishing the mechanicals including a full professional engine rebuild (new adj valves, springs, guides, pistons, Babbitt bearings, water pump, distributor, wiring harness and clutch assembly).I installed new leaf springs front and back, new original rims and tires, break shoes, and a 6V alternator but retained the original generator. The radiator was reamed and the king pins were redone. All this was done gradually over the years and it runs and drives as original. Issues to address include a shimmy at low speed likely due to worn ball joints and valve noise at idle due to worn non-metallic timing gear (common issue). Body is all original with fantastic fenders. Paint is poor and looks to be a respray circa 1950. Top is all there but tatty with a tear along the back. We've had our fun and the kids are almost grown so it's time to let someone take the car to the next level or just drive and tinker. Minimal surface rust except just behind the driver door where its gone through in a small spot. Horn and lights work.
This is a great attention grabber. Henry Ford museum is 20 minutes from Ann Arbor and you can tour the River Rouge Plant were this car was built! The newer Model A museum is also nearby in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Hand crank is included but don't have the window side curtains. Mileage unknown.
Fair reserve so don't ask. Call me with questions at 734-904-5342.
