1966 Ford F-100 Ranger Additional Info:
This is a real V-81 bucket seat Ranger truck. I found this truck at the second owner who had parked it years ago after the water pump blew. I removed the heads to inspect the engine and found a clean recently rebuilt 352 with .30 Pistons. I re lapped the valves, new seals, and re-assembled with Felpro gaskets. No slack in timing chain, and all parts were correct date coded either C5 or C6 as this was a December 1965 build from San Jose California. The cruise-o-matic Trans shifts smooth and solid, evidence on top of the bel housing tells me the Trans has never been out of the vehicle. The seat belts are in as new original remarkable condition. The original carpet shows where the bucket seats were most of its life, the second owner admitted to removing them so his gal could cruise next to him. I have restored several of these trucks from stock, to mild, to wild, this particular truck shows all the right signs of never being molested or abused. I bought a 1976 donor truck for the power steering, power front disc brakes, steering column etc. To make this an easy comfortable driver but the originality tells me there may be a buyer who does not want the originality of this true Ranger V-81 truck to be messed with. I was going to pull the carpet completely off the gas tank to look for the build sheet but it was still glued so I didn't mess with it. The bucket seats and brackets are readily available as they were used in the Mustangs and Broncos in 1965 and 1966. The truck runs cool and smooth, stops well, steers a little sloppy but to be expected. I can upgrade the braking and steering for an additional cost as well as add an A/C kit. As I said earlier I can restore this truck to stock, mild or wild depending on what a buyer would want. This auction is for the original truck in all its glory no warranty as is where is, bid with confidence these trucks are a disappearing breed.
