I am in the process of moving and I am unable to take most of my possessions with me. As a result I am doing something that I hadn't planned to do in a long time, if ever, and have decided to offer my 1968 Ford F250 Ranger Camper Special to the highest bidder. I had searched for a long time to find a bump side F250 in the condition of this truck. This truck was owned up until 18 years ago by the original purchaser. It maintained itself in the interior of British Columbia (arid climate) its entire existence until my purchase of it. This truck has only ever been used in the summer time as a camping unit. As a matter of fact, the Caveman slide-in camper that was on this truck when I received it was installed on this pickup within the first week after its purchase where it remained until I had removed it. When the original owner got older and finally did decide to sell this pickup he had many people really interested in purchasing this truck from him. Eventually after many offers and much thought he chose a young family, that he knew from the same town where he resided, that he felt would appreciate it the same way he had through all the years of his ownership. Once again this truck became available to purchase once this family had matured and were not utilizing this pickup the way they once had. Again, history repeated and there was a long list of people wanting to purchase this truck. This family conducted what seemed more like an interview process to determine who they felt was a good home for this pickup. After some deliberation they decided to offer the right to purchase this pickup to me. I felt like I had won the F250 Camper Special lottery so to speak. My long search for an excellent original bump side F250 was at last over. When I finally did make purchase I thought I would have never resell this pickup, or at least have it until I was a very old man. I have very much enjoyed this pickup since I have had it. I grew up loving muscle vehicles but have transitioned through the years to recently appreciating the utilitarian benefit of having a long bed pickup with some payload. I think a lot of us had a father, uncle, or grandfather that had one of these trucks and there is some nostalgic attachment too. In my circle we refer to these trucks as 'Gentleman Trucks'. I think that term becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy once you get behind the wheel of one of these. As the saying goes "the only thing constant is change" and unfortunately for me as a result I am now offering this pickup to the highest bidder. Just like the previous times this pickup has been available I too have lots of interest, but I felt it was the fairest, for all interested parties, for me to offer this pickup to the highest bidder. As far as the truck's condition goes there isn't too much to add about its condition that the photos don't show. It really is as excellent as it looks in the photos. The most obvious flaw is the areas of Wimbledon White paint that has lifted off on both of the lower front fenders. It happened previous to me owning this truck, so I don't know what happened for sure. There is the typical minor scratch or rock chip here or there that you might expect on a 51 year old pickup, but for original paint there really isn't too much you could fault on this pickup. The tailgate was taken off at a week old, so it was essentially unused when I received this truck. The bed is excellent and only has some paint that had lifted out of the corners as a result of the dirt that had collected along the side of the camper. This truck's interior is really the incredible part. It is all original. The dash is original from the factory and does not have a single crack. The interior really exemplifies the care and treatment that this pickup received. All the glass is original and clean with no cracks and not even a noticeable rock chip. Please look at the attached photos album and videos (see links below) for more looks at this pickup. The Caveman slide-in camper has now been SOLD separate from the truck. The original 360 FE mated to the original C6 transmission both run/work excellent. I left them as they were and only did regular maintenance and service type work which I will list below. This truck is ready to roll. There is no reason that you couldn't hop into this pickup and drive anywhere in North America with it. It runs and drives great. The list of some of the things recently done to this pickup (last 2 months): Full service (Oil, Antifreeze, Transmission (fluid, filter, pan gasket), rear diff oil, air filter, spark plugs, fuel filter etc.) Ceramic Coated exhaust manifolds Brand new Magnaflow exhaust system (sounds great) All brakes done and inspected parts (new front wheel cylinders, front drums resurfaced, new front shoes, new front brake hoses etc.) New master cylinder New front wheel bearings Replaced the radius arms and twin beam pivot bushings New shocks on all 4 corners Freshly powder coated 16" steal wheels Brand new Michelin Defender LTX M/S 245/ 75R16 tires Brand new Alberta Wild Rose Country mud flaps (Extremely Gentlemanly!) I don't want to write too much of a novel here, so I will leave it at that. Please have a good look at all the available photos and videos. I feel really confident to say that if you are looking for one of these trucks you should seriously consider this pickup. I am confident that whomever the lucky purchaser is that they will be extremely happy with this pickup. The purchasers satisfaction is extremely important to me. I may have left some information out, so any questions you may have I would encourage you to please message or call me. Bruce (780) 621-6346 The purchaser is responsible for arranging their own shipping, but I am very willing to accommodate their shipping arrangements once made. This pickup has current registration (title) and insurance. I have a fairly recent safety report done on it, so it should be no problem to import it into the USA. If it so happens that an American buyer purchases this pickup I am more than willing to arrange a delivery to a Montana US port of entry. FYI some of the posts on instagram are multi picture posts. Just click on the post and swipe left. Be sure to check the pictures of the interior of the camper.
