This car was bought new in 1949, being one of the last 1948 models off of the line. It waspurchased by an older woman from New Jersey. It was rarely driven. The old lady who owned it unfortunatelyput some dings and dents in it.After the woman’s passing, the carwas given to another, and ultimately stored in a climate controlled barn for close to 60 years. Itwas purchased by another man around 2018, where it sat on a trailer. He didn’t get to work onit, and it was sold to me in 2020.In my possession, I compounded out the paint; replaced most of theweather stripping; installed a new carpet and sound/heat insulation under the carpet.In addition, several new partshave been installed, including a new clutch, and the car is mechanically sound.New parts include: newclutch and pressure plate, new water pump, fan belt, fuel tank and filters, coolant hoses, brake lines,shoes and cylinders on all four sides, carburetor, all new Coker radials, including the spare. Allfour rims have been meticulously painted and pinstriped by hand. I put about $20K in to the car, as I had a professional mechanic do all the workto get it running and road ready.Overall, she is in good shape, save for some dents in the rear end and imperfect paint. Notmissing any trim or hard to find pieces. A very solid frame with next to no rust underneath, andhas seen the rain all of two times in my ownership, and is garage-kept when not being driven.This car needs the seats recovered. They are in original condition.About 36,000 original miles on the odometer; she runs very quietly. I havetaken very good care of this car in the time I’ve had the pleasure of owning it, and it is my hopethat whoever it ends up in the hands of does the same, or better.
