1947 DeSoto rat rod S-11 sedan Additional Info:
DeSoto . Condition is Used. The hard work has been done on this car. Equipped with a low mileage 5.2L Dodge V-8, Holley 600 cfm electric choke carburetor, GM one wire 100 amp alternator. New 12V battery and cables installed. Has new aluminum heavy duty radiator with a new 3600 rpm electric pusher fan. Transmission is a rebuilt three speed automatic (all filters and fluids are new). New driveshaft and u-joints, 3:73:1 gear ratio in differential. Painless Wiring kit, all lights converted to 12V, new Dolphin quad gauges, air horns that play La Cucaracha. New glass, glass channels and glass anti-rattle. All new windshield, rear window, vent windows and quarter window rubber (Steele Rubber Products). Have new premade headliner, 50ft matching wind lace, 4 yards extra material and seven new sarape blankets (see pictures). New radial tires with Mooneyes port-a-walls (wide whites). 1956 DeSoto hubcaps. Car is lowered 3" in front and 2" in rear. Aluminum Fulton sun visor painted patina to match car. Car has two coats of satin clearcoat, All inside garnish moldings are painted basecoat/clearcoat in color that matches upholstery material.
Here's what is needed to finish: Exhaust (I have turbo mufflers), brakes bled and adjusted (has all new brake lines & hoses), master cylinder and wheel cylinders have been rebuilt. Front end alignment. Headliner installed, seats and door panels upholstered (comes with most material).
Reason for selling: Wife recently retired, once life back to normal we plan on travelling in our motorhome. Been working on this car for 1-1/2 years. It had been sitting for years in the Tucson, AZ desert for many years, it is a very solid car.
