This an extremely rare 1961 Imperial Crown coupe. 1 of 1007 produced. Factory "Coronation Red" car with white leather interior. Equipped with power brakes, power steering, AC, power windows, power seat, radio, right side mirror and Flyte Sweep trunk lid. Please read the entire description as it gives a thorough evaluation of the car. It has a title. I have many more pics I can send.
The car needs total restoration inside and out. It has not been on the road since 1972 and the milage of 44k may be original. It was bought new in Knoxville, TN. It is 100% complete and is not missing any parts whatsoever.
It does not run and hasn't run in years, motor is stuck, but complete. It had no transmission when I got it, I will include a transmission out of another 61 Imperial that I think is a good trans. Many, many years ago a truck back into it and pushed in the passenger side fender. It could be fixed but I will include another fender, plus a parking light, bumper extensions for both sides, and so on. I already replaced the front bumper with a nice one I had.
The driver's side quarter needs repair above the wheel well and on the lower quarter. This is the worst rust area on the car. It sat sideways for decades so water collected on the driver's side. The inner rockers are completely solid. The outer rockers underneath the doors are solid both sides. The area of the outer rockers that's underneath the quarter windows will need to be patched on both sides. There's 1 repair panel included. Passenger side lower quarter has no rust, above the wheel is good, has a 2 finger side rust spot. The trunk floor is quite nice and is not thin, just needs a patch on the driver's side near the front. The lower trunk lip will need to be replaced, this is a common rust out area
The interior floors are good overall. Driver's side needs to be patched, has a couple holes but isn't not too bad (not gone). The rest of the floors have no holes.
Driver's door has rust all along the bottom, passenger side has a 2 smaller holes, is fixable. Trunk lid rusted on lip. Rare Flyte Sweep trim is pretty nice and not pitted.
Interior is dried out and needs to be redone, seats, door panels, headliner, etc The dash pad is cracked and warped. The steering wheel is from another car and is pretty good, horn pad nice. I have the lower rear window trim, and I'm including a right side mirror
This would be a stunning and unique car restored. You'll never see another factory red '61 Imperial coupe, if you can even find another '61 coupe. These cars hardly ever come up for sale. I parted out many Imperials and I have additional parts that would be available to the buyer to purchase if interested, including a near perfect dash, another trunk lid, the trunk lip area, additional trim, rocker trim, etc.
Sold completely AS-IS, no warranty
NOTE: ***I have no room to store the car and it must be removed soon after payment is made. Payment due within 5 days. Bank wire, check, money order, cash in person accepted for payment. Paypal only for a deposit. It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange and pay for transport of the other parts I am including I will assist how I can. I would suggest Fastenal for trans ($200-300 almost anywhere in USA), and fender on transport truck.****
