1962 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:
Daily driver quality semi-restoration. Mechanically modernized suspension and drivetrain. Cab interior restored.
Description of features:
Throttle body injected 350 V8 with 151k miles from a 1990 Chevy K1500. Runs as it should. No noises, smoke or leaks. All engine mounted accessories, tensioner, idler and serpentine belt are new.
New large 4 row aluminum radiator with adapted 63-66 fan shroud. New upper and lower radiator hoses. Heater hoses are new as well.
Battery is new.
Original 4 speed transmission. New synchro on 4th gear, re-sealed and in excellent condition. New 12 inch clutch set and new clutch hydraulics. Transmission mounted parking brake works.
New drive shaft and carrier bearing.
Swapped in Dana 60 rear axle. Fully rebuilt with 3.73 gearing and True-Trac differential.
All new rear suspension - Springs, shocks and trailing arms with new bushings.
Front suspension, brakesand steering is 1972 C20 and all new. Power disc brakes and power steering.
New 215/85x16 10 ply Firestone TransForce tires. The 16x7 steel wheels are new also.
The cab interior was completely gutted, wire wheeled, sanded, cleaned, primedand painted. This cab required no rust repair.
New Vintage AC and heat. Works great.
New two speed w/intermittent wiper motor.
New Dakota Digital Instrument cluster.
New Ididit tilt steering column with Grant steering wheel.
New black carpet.
Refurbished stock bench seat.
New fuel tank and gauge sender.
New sun visors.
New front and rear glass.
New door weather seals.
No stereo
The exterior body sheet metal condition is very good. The only two rust spots are shown in the photos. The paint is in poor shape but it is patina-ed which most people seem to like.
The two front fenders have had the lower rear sections replaced with new metal, including the supports.
The bed wood is intact and original but showing its age.
The whole truck has been re-wired with an American Auto Wire classic update wiring kit. All exterior lighting is new. Front turn signal and rear lights are LED.
