1972 Chevrolet Blazer Additional Info:
Here is another 1972 Blazer I'm letting go. This one is a 4x4 cst model in the original medium green color. This is a two owner truck. It was bought new in Kalispell Montana and stayed there until 1994 at which time it came here. The engine is a 350 4 bolt, it was completely rebuilt 15 years ago. The cylinders were bored .30, standard rods and crank. It has a 375 horse 327 comp hydraulic cam and lifters in it. This year, the heads have been rebuilt due to bad valve seals. New seals, valves, pushrods, rocker arms, head bolts, all gaskets involved, new 1406 edelbrock carb, thermostat, fluids, valve covers, on and on. It also has an ATI balancer, hooker headers, Holley intake, new starter, and big cap HEI distributor. The engine makes excellent oil pressure and starts and runs awesome. The TH350 trans is all rebuilt and has a nice shift kit in it. It's solid. The front axle has new upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearing seals, new brake pads, new master cylinder, rear shoes and cylinders also. Brand new BFG All Terrain KO2's in 33x12.50x15 on original 15x8 rally's, new trim rings and center caps. I have went out of my way to retain as many oem GM parts as possible on this Blazer and every other old car I own. There might be a few parts that aren't as pretty as some people would like to see, but they are real and not from China. The body is in way above average shape for one of these. I've owned many and this one is quite nice, not perfect by any means but nice. Rust issues are as follows: drivers side door has some on the front and rear inner corners, drivers floor up against the kick panel has some, all in one spot, easily fixed, nothing up the kick panel, a few pencil side holes on the passenger side close to kick panel, a little down low in front and behind rear wheel on passenger side, a little down low on drivers side in front of wheel, and some on battery box. The fenders are amazingly rust free, passenger door is good, rockers, rocker boxes, tailgate, rear cargo floor is clean, overall it's good. The paint isn't perfect but is very nice for a driver. The body is extremely straight and all gaps are as good as I've ever seen. I have rotisserie restored serval of these and can say that this truck is solid and hasn't been smashed up. It has a single wall top in super nice shape, a few chips and small cracks, the hatch is basically perfect, everything there functions as it should. Tops this nice don't come around very often. All of the lower woodgrain trim is new, 4 pieces are nos gm and the rest are gm licensed new. The grill shell is very nice, still has factory rivets, bumpers are straight, everything bolted to the outside is oem gm, other than the side marker lights. I gutted the entire interior and cleaned it all up. It has new ACC molded carpet front to back, I do have wheel well carpet but it's not installed. The seats are all redone with original style houndstooth, new seat backs, console is restored, oem seatbelts all work, oem door panels in great shape, no cracks or added holes, new arm rests front and rear, new green dash pad, new comfort grip steering wheel on oem tilt column, which has been serviced. new windshield and seal, all other glass is crack free and nice, new sill plates, oem rear carpet strips, single wall top chrome strips, side panel strips are all there. I have never replaced the rear side panels, all of the brackets and oem hardeware is there. It would be a matter of screwing them down and your done. Also new original style floor mats, new windshield wipers, new ac delco battery, dash bezel, on and on!! You get the point. The truck could stand a new exhaust system. It has glass packs and is kind of loud. Maybe thats a bonus for some haha. This is not a junker Blazer thrown together for an eBay car lot, priced twice as high as it's worth. This is owned and serviced by a GM enthusiast. I have a low reserve on this truck, I want to sell it, not let it sit on here for months on end with some big number on it. If you want a perfect one, look at the examples on here and elsewhere for $30k plus. This truck can be taken up into the mountains and enjoyed with the family, if it gets rained it, its not the end the world. Anyone thats into these Blazers would be very proud and happy to own this one. Remember, this thing is 45 years old!!! If you havn't driven one of these, don't expect it to feel like your new Denali. You'll be disappointed. Any questions or if you'd like to make an offer to end the auction early, feel free to call me at 406-208-9405. All pictures were taken today, every receipt I have will be included. Clean and clear title issued in 1994 and just notorized. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs.
