1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Additional Info:
I'm selling my 1971 Chevelle SS 402 big block with a TH400 automatic transmission & 12-boltposi rear end. The car is all numbers matching from front to back... yes, it has the complete "born with" original drivetrain. It has one of the most desirable color combinations you could get in '71, black with white stripes & sandalwood (off white) interior. The car still has the original paint that it left the factory with. It was taken off the road in 1983 by the original owner and it was sitting in his backyard all these years. The motor waspulled, rebuilt, and was kept on a stand in dry storage until last week when I reinstalled it in order to make it more convenient to sell. This is also an original Long Island, NY car, sold new at O'Keefe Chevrolet-Oldsmobile in Riverhead, NY. The original owner lived less than 5 miles away from that dealership. I have the owners manual, the protect-o-plate, loan contracts from O'Keefe Chevrolet, the last insurance card as well as the DMV receipt for when the license plate was turned in and the car was taken off the road. It still has the other matching license plate on the back. I also have the original key pouch with the key plugs still inside. I found 2 build sheets in this car, one was in the rear seat wrapped around the seat frame and the other was in the front seat above the springs. There may be other copies hidden in there as the interior is all original and undisturbed. The odometer reads 84k miles and I believe it to be accurate since the car was taken off the road so many years ago. The car still has the original spiral shocks on it! As far as the body, it is exactly what you would expect an east coast car to look like if it had been driven daily and then put out to pasture for 33 years. It has rust in all the usualareas you would find on a car this age but the roof, rockers, & floor pans are surprisingly solid. The interior is all there except for the carpet which was removed to check the condition of the floors. The dash still has the original radio in it. Aside from the motor already being rebuilt, plan on this car needing a fullrestoration although this is a car that makes sense to restore!I am a long time member of Team Chevelle forums and I've had quite a few of these cars over the years so I know my stuff but I encourage you to bring your experts to verify my claims. Don't miss out on this opportunity to own a real big block numbers matching fully documented Chevelle SS. I have a clean NYS transferable registration in hand.If you have any questions regarding the car, please ask before bidding. I can be reached at(5one6) 6four1-8one04.
I have the car for sale locally as well and reserve the right to end this auction at any time. $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auctions closing. The balance is due within 7 days of auctions closing and can either be cash or cashier's check only. If paying with a cashier's check, the funds would have to fully clear before the vehicle leaves my possession. The buyer is responsible for any pickup/shipping arrangements and expenses. The vehicle is being sold as-is with no warranties, either expressed or implied. No returns accepted.
Thank you!
