This 1962 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz is a privately owned collector car and a very original, well-preserved example that has been pampered throughout its life. The car had only two owners for more than 30 years before I became its third owner.
Much of this Eldorado remains just as it left Cadillac. It retains its original interior, carpeting, trunk, convertible top, and a significant amount of its original paint, all of which remain in excellent condition. The mileage is original, and the car comes with documentation and paperwork from its history.
The previous longtime owner was a member of the Cadillac & LaSalle Club and cared for the car for more than 30 years. Its preservation today reflects the kind of ownership and care it has received throughout its life. The car has also received several awards over the years. Those awards will remain with the car and are included along with its documentation and paperwork.
Finished in black, the car carries the rare trim code 12B interior with black leather bucket seats and black-and-white Canes Cloth inserts. Although Cadillac referred to the material as Canes Cloth, it is not a conventional cloth fabric. It has a distinctive black-and-white woven or tweed-like appearance with a durable vinyl-like surface. It wears exceptionally well, which can be seen in the remarkable condition of the original seats in this car. The bucket seats combined with the Canes Cloth make this an especially unusual interior.
The photographs really tell the story of this car. It is an exceptionally well-preserved, collector-quality Eldorado that has not been restored or altered simply to make it look new. Original cars with this level of preservation, history, and documentation are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
Please review all the photographs to appreciate the originality and overall condition of the car.
