All Original 1969 BMW 1600 Sedan
Here we have for sale an all original 1969 BMW 1600 Sedan. I bought this car from the original owner who purchased it brand new in Oakland, California. It’s been a California/West Coast car since new. It runs and drives very well. These are very rare cars to find today, especially the early versions like this 1600. The car is an absolute blast to drive and has great power and is smooth. It’s a real low mileage car and it feels like that when you drive it. The car is all original besides one repaint but it’s the original color. The interior is all original and unrestored. The body is real straight with a great look and lines. It has a few little dings in the metal here and there. Nothing major. The paint has been polished and waxed to protect the shine. There is some hard water spots on the passenger side of the car, paint and glass. The glass is all original in the car and there is no cracks in it. It’s all the Duro-Glass that came in the car from the factory. It even has the original front windshield. The bumpers are original and have their overriders still attached to them. The chrome has some patina on it. The tires are in good shape. The wheels and hubcaps are original. They all have patina on them too. The window rubbers are all in good shape. The electrical all works in the car and even the radio! The only things that aren’t working at the clock and blower fan. There’s a wire disconnected from the blower fan. It may just need to be plugged back in to work. The interior is all original in the car. The seats are in good shape. The driver side seat cover has a split in the seam. The passenger side and back seat are in great shape. The carpet is original and has some wear and discoloration. The door panels front and back are in great shape. The headliner is in great shape too! The engine compartment is super clean and same as the trunk. It’s complete with the original liner in it and spare tire and jack. The engine runs great and the car shifts through all the gears well. The clutch is good in the car and the car stops very well. It stops straight too. It has a new distributor in the car and spark plug wires. It has a new battery too. This is a 12v electrical system so the headlight brightness is great. There is some rust in a couple places of the car, one on the front end underneath the front bumper. It’s a easy place for rust to occur. There is terrible drainage for water that comes in through the front grille. And then there a rust spot on the passenger side front fender. It’s pretty minor. The floors and everything else is solid on the car. Overall this is a great old survivor BMW. You can enjoy it as-is or this could be a good candidate for restoration or customization because this car has never been messed with. This is a great one, owner car that would be an awesome addition to somebody’s collection. It’s not a perfect car but something that you can enjoy and cruise in. I have the original key to the car and a manual that will go with it. The title is currently in transit from the DMV. It will be a clean and clear Nevada title. I should have it in 3-4 weeks. The DMV is very backlogged in Reno. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. I can store the car for a few months so that shipping arrangements are made and the car is picked up. Please look at all the pictures and ask any questions that you may have. My phone number is 775-830-6760. Thanks for looking!
