BMW 1600, VIN: 1563436 was manufactured on 1968 and delivered to the BMW importer Vasek Polak in Hermosa Beach. Originally a rare Florida color, bonus with a sun roof. It is in unrestored, unmolested condition, no body damage, no rust, structurally perfect.
I purchased the vehicle around 15 years ago from The Coupe King and has always been well taken care of by BMW specialists.
It currently has a 2002 engine in with other practical updates but can easily be returned to original specs. My mechanic should have the 1600 engine block that came with the vehicle.
The car still has the original black plates and license plate holder from the Vasek Polak dealership and yes, the antenna still has the ruby tip.
Interior needs some work as you can see, the headliner is missing and I don't have the bows for it. Dash is cracked, and front seats are ripped. I do have 2 seats in perfect condition that I will include with the sale.
Odometer currently shows 79,xxx miles which is not the actual milage, actual milage unknown.
The engine starts right up every time and runs strong, the 4 speed transmission shifts as it should and the brakes work without incident.
It's a great example of a 1969 BMW 1600 which you can drive as is to enjoy immediately or a solid foundation for a worthwhile restoration project.
