1980 BMW 5-Series Additional Info:
For sale is an excellent example of the very first 5-series. The vehicle just had complete engine maintenance from a mechanic who specializes specifically in BMWs. The work includes all new genuine BMW or OEM gaskets, hoses, valves, belts, fluids, and much more; The complete list of work is all documented and available if you wish to see. Also, brand new genuine BMW brake master cylinder, Bosch Battery, and bulbs for the turn signals as well as dashboard (these are often burned out and difficult to replace). It is a good ride, shifts well and the engine is sound. The previous owner had a new paint job put on it. No rips or tears in original leather seats. Front two doors wood plus the shift knob have been refinished nicely; the back two are in fair condition. Car has some very small superficial rust spots which can be removed, although after 40 years its in very nice shape. Sitting on 14' BBS originals. Includes complete original owners manual, papers, and toolkit with no rust. Has been in the garage since I owned it, and the previous owner the same. The car of course is not perfect, AC is going, radio electronics sometimes work, sunroof needs new parts, and the antenna may need repair/replacement (still functions but will not retract or expand when the engine is turned off or on). Regardless, it is still a very nice example of the E12 and easily capable of reaching mint condition with proper TLC. Lots of time, money and effort have been put into this car, so I am hoping to sell it to someone who will appreciate and care for her properly. Includes one original key and the spare silver key. Thank you for looking! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
