1987 Audi Other Additional Info:
We have owned this car since around 1996. Some work was completed by the family in the home garage and some was completed at shops. The 5000 has its unique history eventually ending with the name audi 200.It is near impossible to mention everything about this cars current status. One thing I can tell you is that it can be started and driven away somewhat safely! We are a family full of European owned cars, many of which are unique but with age we are beginning to sell what we don't have time to deal with. The wagon has been the best car to own when it was driven daily. It has seen colleges, snow storms, amazing road trips and much more. The 5000 has not seen more than a few hundred miles a year for a long time. We have so many other cars the last road trip this took was 2hours away in 2012.
Don't let the following information scare you away. The list shows what does not work.
1. Cluster- odometer not working but speedo/rpm work.2. No rear muffler. Pipe broke near rear axle. Makes no additional noise as a result.3. Passenger rear window does nothing4. Sunroof is not working correctly. Kept shut.5. Shifter missing some type of bushing. Can go in to all gear but some require some typical old vw/audi finess6. a/c7. interior ticking from hvac system (not uncommon)8. tires are dry rot and loose air over time
Included are a few boxes of extra parts. Regarding service items like timing belt. We have a book full of receipts from over the years however, Some service was repaired for cash with no receipt pt completed " in house" and because so much time has passed, we are not positive about what we have fixed or replaced over the years. We generally always maintained the car for safety and reliability.
Lastly, the fixed price with best offer is because there is no way to put a value on this car. The value is in the eye of the beholder. We would hate to donate the car but we are looking for a cash value more than the tax deductible donation amount. This is your opportunity at a bite of pure Audi history.
