Loaded with options including Group 19: American Motors' secret weapon performance program. It may have been too secret because not many took advantage of it. Well, this car has it! It includes a rare Edelbrock R4B intake, Mallory ignition and Doug's headers. It has everything from a/c to leather upholstery. 61,073 original miles. I acquired this car from a very fussy collector, it is dialed in and detailed! EXTERIOR: It has a very distinguished sports car like design with the longer hood and a shortened deck lid. The body's outstanding and claimed to be original. It's absolutely straight with no rust or damage. Repainted it's original matador red color that's polished like glass. It has painted on over the top white racing stripes. The stainless moldings are straight and shiny. Original door handles and rear bumper are clean. Front bumper was rechromed. The dual chrome mirrors look like new. The original windshield helps verify the low miles. 15 inch Magnum 500 wheels sparkle like new. BFG tires look new too. INTERIOR: It's pretty immaculate throughout. It is a factory charcoal leather car. The carpet looks new front to back. Very clean original door panels. The seats have firm cushions and new Legendary genuine leather upholstery and headrests. The dash area is mint- the woodgrain, heater controls, vents, knobs, gauges etc. It also has a very clean steering wheel on a tilt column. The console is mint. It still has its original AM radio with an FM converter in the glovebox. The original mirror is still on the visor, part of the convenience group. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has the correct 390 motor with the dealer installed Group 19 performance package. This includes an Edelbrock R4B intake, Mallory ignition and Doug's headers, items right off the AMC dealer's performance sheet. Original hp was 315, the upgrades should bring it over 350! The original Quadrajet carb was rebuilt. It has original chrome valve covers that still have the tag riveted to it that connects this motor to this car. It was restored with reproduction hoses and clamps, rebuilt original 3 row radiator. It even has a reproduction American Motors battery that is bolted down properly. It even has correct Motorola alternator. It has under hood insulation, the squirters are hooked up, new washer fluid bag. It features factory air conditioning that has been serviced and blows cold. It also features power steering and brakes. The engine bay is clean metal. Everything is neat and orderly. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid is painted glossy, the jamb is clean original. Inside is rock solid, it's been carpeted. The original collapsible spare with the American Motors air bottle and jack assembly is in place. The weather strip and decals have been replaced. It also has the optional trunk light. UNDERSIDE: It has the special heavy duty handling package. The steering and suspension looks like it has been completely rebuilt, shocks and sway bar were replaced. In back it has air shocks and an upgraded sway bar. Great sounding dual exhaust with rare vintage Thrush mufflers. It has disc brakes in front, e-brake is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it's very fresh and has a high torque starter. The shift command automatic trans is clean, driveshaft is rebuilt. Twin Grip rear end with 3.15 gears. The floors are very clean metal. SERVICE: We inspected the car and replaced the front right caliper. This is a very special AMX! Very rare and desirable features. It's a well cared for, low mile original car.
