1987 Alfa Romeo Verde
Up for auction is a one owner, rust-free, California-only, complete Alfa Milano Verde. We purchased this car for a racing project, but with only 800 imported to the US, several enthusiasts have suggested we should find an owner who wants to keep it intact first.
It is an original owner, alfa club member car. Everything is complete. When we picked it up it had a leaking brake hose and we've replaced them with braided lines and done a brake fluid flush and they work now. The car has the 3.0 liter Busso V6 engine and purrs along nicely now with fresh gas.
The good: Car drives and trans shifts very well with no grinding at all. Original alfa romeo radio/tape player and electric antenna works as well as power windows, locks, and most accessories. Comes with owners manuals and $4700 in receipts (can provide) of work done in the last 10k miles including new ABS pump, oil pressure sending unit, rear main seal, giubo coupling, timing belt, water pump, brake calipers, brake flush and wheel bearing repacking. Comes with sheepskin covers that have been protecting the front seats. Can find no rust on it.
The bad: While paint is good in other areas, the clear coat is gone on the trunk and roof, has leaks in the usual places -- the engine, some radiator drips and wetness on the transaxle. Speedo is inop (may be fixed before auction end), so true mileage can't be certified, but son of owner (deceased) estimated there has been no more than 10k miles driven in last 10 years by elderly driver. Mostly just sat in garage. Odo reads 106k, so I added 12k extra to stated mileage on listing. Timing belt was changed and looks solid, but should be changed due to age. Tires have plenty of tread, but should be refreshed due to age.
Bonus: Interior in good shape (see photos), but comes with a complete roll of ORIGINAL from Recaro material (rare and no longer available) to refinish the interior whenever the time comes in the future. See photo.
In short, this is an original, rust free car that was enthusiast owned, but has the usual leaks, blemishes, etc. typical of these cars with age. Drive it home before we turn it into a race car. :)
Thank you for looking!
