Mechanicals:
Only 57,065 original miles from new. Starts, runs, and drives excellent with tons of power and torque from the all aluminum 3.0 V6 engine. Clutch feels great, and the transmission shifts smoothly and precisely throughout all five gears and into reverse. Absolutely no issues with the second gear synchro. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via its DeDion transaxle system. The factory Brembo brakes bring the car to a complete stop from any speed with ease. Emergency brake cable locks the rear wheels securely. With its 50/50 weight distribution and performance oriented suspension system, this car handles absolutely incredible. Aftermarket ANSA performance exhaust with twin polished tips not only looks great but also provides a high quality sporty growl under acceleration, without any annoying drone at idle or cruising speeds. Fully sorted and always maintained using original OEMAlfa Romeoparts. The timing belt, tensioner, and serpentine belt are said to be done 5,000 miles ago, and all still feel and look good. No leaking or smoking. No ABS issues.A/C works good but could use a recharge to feel ice cold.
Exterior:Original New Mexico car with zero rust, yes, even the common rust prone areas are rust-free. Structurally this vehicle is completely solid throughout with clean and straight floor pans, trunk pan, wheel wells, arches, and rocker panels.Super straight body with excellent panel gaps still wearing factory VIN stickers. Accident-free with no evidence of any major collisions. Unfortunately, the same climate that kept thisexample solid and rust-free was also responsible for fading of its original finish. The red(Alfa Rosso130 Doppio Strato)paint has been professionally redone by a restoration shop(NOT an average autobody collision shop)here on Long Island, NY. TheVerdeequipped fender flares, side skirts, and bumpers were all removed duringthis process, refinished, and then reinstalled using very rare OEM NOS weatherstripping, seals, and hardware. The anthracite gray trim, door handles, and mirrors were also removed and refinished in their correct charcoalmetallic color. The final result looks as good as new with a smooth, deep, and glossy finish. Absolutely no overspray or amateur mistakes.Door jambs, pillars, and gutters still wear glossy original paint. All lights and glass are original and in excellent shape with no pitting or oxidation. International-Auto protective film installed by the original owner on both headlights andfoglights have prevented any road rash or rock chips. There is absolutely no aftermarket undercoating applied to the immaculate undercarriage(often done in an attempt to hide rust and/or repairs). The engine bay is also immaculate. FactoryVerdeequipped 15" Benzoni(BWA)wheels are all straight and true with no curb rash or major scratches to their original silver finish. Matching195/55/15Dunlop Direzza DZ101 tires with 95% thread depth all around.
Interior:
FactoryVerdeequippedRecaroLS-Cseats are finished in their originalBlack Avusfabric withBlack Monzafabric inserts. Door panel inserts are finished in their originalBlack Monzafabric as well.It isnearly impossibleto find this interior in such incredible condition(especially the driver's seat). There is not a single imperfection throughout(no rips, tears, fading, stains, etc). In addition, the black carpeting is all very clean. The only issue to note is somevery minorsagging of the original headliner in various areas(see photos). The rear parcel shelf, dashboard, center console, and other interior trim are all in great shape with no issues. Lastly, the trunk and spare tire areas are both super clean and appear to have been used very sparingly. Model specific sun-shade for the front windshield was used and provided by the original owner, protecting the interior from UV damage. All original manuals, books, brochures, and paperwork are included. Original tool kit is still brand-new.
Electronics:
All exterior and interior lights function flawlessly with no faults. All gauges and electronic accessories function flawlessly as well. All four power windows go up and down at normal speeds. The sunroof opens, closes, and tilts perfectly at normal speeds as well. The original factory equipped Clarion radio, speakers, and power antenna all work as they should.Unfortunately, the infamousAlfa Romeo Control(ARC)dashboard-mounted diagnostic computeris currently malfunctioning with a couple of the lights randomly blinking(see photo). It is a very common problem for these cars, and jokingly referred to as the"Christmas tree”amongst Milano owners. Personally, I feel this controlunit is insignificant with its outdated technology and unreliable diagnostics. However, a perfectionist might want it to function properly for nostalgic reasons, so there are two simple options:(1)DIY(do-it-yourself)fix with fully detailedstep-by-step instructions andphotos which requires a $1.25voltage regulatoreasily found online.(2)If tinkering with electronics is not your thing—a complete OEM NOS unit can be purchased oneBayMotorsfor $25-$30 and simply swapped right into the dashboard with three plugs in the back and two philips-head screws in the front.
Summary:
Super clean, low mileage, original examples are few and far between nowadays. Anyone in the market would be hard pressed to find another example even half as nice. Even at30 years old, it is the same beautifulhigh performancesport sedan that was purchased new in 1989. Offered here is a very honest and super clean example that is fully sorted both mechanically and cosmetically. It needs nothing but a new owner to love and enjoy it. This is anAlfa Romeo Milano Verdeyou can truly be proud to own.
Disclaimer:
I want all potential buyers to understand that I have tried to describe this car as honestly and thoroughly as possible. I would like to reiterate the fact that it is a 30 year old used car and does have 57,065 miles, so naturally there is some normal but minor wear and tear in various areas. It is not a brand-new vehicle, and thus not 100% perfect. The car is being soldas-is & where-is,with no warranty expressed or implied. I can assist with shipping anywhere in the United States, but this is ultimately the buyer’s responsibility.
