1987 Alfa Romeo Milano Verde Additional Info:
1987 Alfa Romeo Milano Verde
- 141,000 miles on the chassis, 80,000 miles on the motor.
- Sold new and always registered in Southern California.
- One of approximately 800 Milano Verde’s imported to the US between 1987-1989.
- I’ve had over a dozen Milano Verde’s over the years and this has got to be one of the best driving ones I’ve ever owned. Engine, suspension, and transmission feel great. No squeaks or rattle when driving.
EXTERIOR
- For the most part the Anthracite Grey appears to be original paint with exception to the hood and top of trunk lid.
- There is some fading on the roof and top of rear fender by the antenna (see pictures). The rear wheel arches have typical rock chips from highway use.
- The lower portions of the door look like the clear has some hazing but it only noticeable from up close.
- Couple dents on the one of the doors - a paintless dent guy can remove these.
- Some touch up on the rear bumper and one of the wheel arches.
- The grey trim around the body and door handles is in very good condition. I replaced the door handle gaskets.
- Wheels are in great shape with 205/50-15 Falken tires.
- The fog lights are missing the surround trim. I’m actively searching for them and if I find some before the auction closes, I will include them.
- Has a 1989 grille.
- Factory power antenna works great. Goes up and down fine.
- All exterior lights work properly.
- All proper factory bronze tint side and rear glass (specific for Milano Verde).
INTERIOR
- Interior is all original.
- Front seats are good with some slight wear on the driver bottom. The material is now available through Centerline Alfa. Side bolsters are in great shape and very tight.
- Rear seats are over all good. Some wear on the passenger side seat bottom and the back of the head rests are a bit dry and cracked from the California sun.
- Headliner is good. Sometimes the fabric sunroof section can seem little unglued in the morning cold and left outside but tightens up firm through out the day and it get warm.
- Gauge cluster is in great shape and dash top has signs of some very thin cracks on top but it’s only noticeable from close up.
- Steering will is nice overall with a little split at the top.
- Carpet is good and clean with no tears.
- All the door panels are in good overall condition. Passenger front has a little nick in the fabric, but most people won’t notice it.
- Has the original Clarion pull out radio and all original speakers.
- Sunroof tilts up and goes back. It’s a little slow sometimes but closes.
- Just charged the a/c and does not appear to have any leaks.
- Heater works great.
- The ARC dash lights come on and clicker 2 times out of 10. This is a known problem with these cars. This is one of the better units I’ve seen on these cars in a long time.
- Spare wheel, jack, and tool kit in the trunk.
MECHANICAL
- Recent major service: New belts, water pump, valve adjustment, changed all fluids, fuel hoses, air and fuel filters, etc.
- Engine runs very strong with no smoke. I bought the car with the engine apart after previous owner snapped the timing belts and bent the valves. I installed an 80K mile motor out of another 1987 Milano Verde parts car I have. It’s the proper engine for the car, just a few numbers off the original.
- Transmission shifts unbelievable good. No grinding in any gears on up or down shifts. The bushings for the shift linkage are in great shape so there is zero slop in the shifter. Clutch feel good and releases properly.
- Suspension is good. All bushings, tie rods, ball joints, shocks, etc. are in great shape. The only modification I did was install lowering springs in the rear to bring the back down a little bit.
- Brakes are good. The ABS works as it should with no issues. Has drilled rotors up front.
- Exhaust system is stock and in good condition. The catalytic converter is good - just passed smog a few months ago.
- Power steering is good with no leaks at the rack and pinion.
Overall, this is a great car,and even though it has 141,000 miles on the chassis, it looks a lot better than most Milano Verde’s with this many or half that many miles. If I didn’t have my other Milano for 20 years, I’d sell that one and keep this car in a heartbeat. The car comes with some records going back to 1994 and has a clean Car Fax.
