1979 Volkswagen Rabbit Additional Info:

This car is currently not running. It needs a new fuel injection pump.

The car is a nice little commuter, getting ~50mpg. It got a new paint job in 2003, so the exterior looks pretty good. It also has the louvers, which adds some flair. The interior is in decent shape - the dash is cracked in a few places, but nothing obscene. It has an after-market stereo with a CD/MP3 player.

The engine is not the original 1.5L. The owner before me bought it with a blown head gasket, and replaced the 1.5L with a 1.6L, which now has about 150,000 miles on it, although the odometer reads just over 10k, because the previous owner also replaced the speedometer/odometer assembly.

The brake does not have a power boost, but the master cylinder was replaced shortly before I bought it (March 2016), and it does work. Just don't tailgate.

The A/C does not work because the car is missing a compressor.

Now for what works:

Recently replaced the battery, the starter, glow plug relay, front left axle assembly with CV joint, radiator.

The bottom line is that this would be a good car for someone who wants to do his/her own work, put some time and love into it, possibly even make it special. These are starting to get into 'Classic' territory.

Moving and have not time to maintain. Need to sell ASAP. $2500 or best offer.
