1980 Lotus Other SUPER SPRINT Additional Info:

A rare opportunity to own one of the purest drivers cars in the world. This Caterham 7 was originally built in Great Britain in 1988 and has covered less than 11,000 miles since new and was completely overhauled in 2012 at considerable expense including a beautiful new paint job in Oxford blue. The engine is a Ford 1700cc X-flow unit which has been built to a very high spec including a lightweight flywheel, fast rod cam, electronic ignition and a dry sump lubrication system. Output at the flywheel is estimated at 155bhp and with a curb weight of around 1200lbs it makes for a great power to weight ratio, 0-60 comes in under 5 seconds and it will corner like it is on rails. The sounds from the car are hard to put into words, the twin Webers make an amazing induction sound and the side exit exhaust adds to the music with lovely pops on the overrun. The transmission is a 4 speed manual linked to a limited slip differential with 4:1 ratio gearing make it very quick off the line (although the changed ratio makes the speedo a bit optimistic!). It does have the taller, stronger track spec roll bar and the car is fitted with an automatic fire extinguisher system. For safety passengers get a 4 point harness, the driver gets a 5 point, these do keep you in place very well. The car is in beautiful condition and needs nothing, it is ready to show or drive. Everywhere I take it it draws a crowd and every drive puts a smile on your face, I have owned many fun cars including Porsches and BMWs but nothing comes close to this experience. Below is a list of the vehicle options and work done recently, I am sure I have missed a few things but have lots of receipts from the work carried out. I added the "Caterham" stripes to the side and the white stripes up the length of the car, these are vinyl and can be removed easily if you don't like them. The car does have a normal clear Ohio title so no worries about getting it registered in your State. The link below is a quick walk around video I did. Thanks for looking!
