1979 Jeep Cherokee Additional Info:

For sale is a very nice, very clean, fully rebuilt, classic Jeep Cherokee Chief Wide Track 4x4 with low miles. You won’t see many of these rare beasts out driving around, let alone in this nice of condition. I have tried to show the best representation of the Jeep with my pics and hope you see for yourself just how nice this beauty truly is.
This Jeep was originally a loaded, power equipped, Golden Eagle Edition that’s been converted to manual controls so it has manual crank windows, 4x4, door locks, back glass, & lighting. No A/C, but plenty of windows & vents. Heater works excellent. ~7600 miles (see pic) on a nicely rebuilt AMC V-8 engine. Sorry I don’t know how many miles on body/chassis but a very thorough restore has been done so it feels and drives tight. Bushings and suspension all feel good. Drivetrain components are either new or rebuilt. There is no rear seat so the back end is spacious and wide open to either camp out/sleep in or haul stuff. Holes are in metal floor if you want to add seat though. Skid plate on fuel tank.
I have owned and driven this Jeep for a few years now and I can tell you it drives very nicely, the steering is tight and turns very sharply for tight spots, and is very stable due to the wide track front axle. This classic has not been abused in anyway and I have taken care of it the best I can. I had the 4 barrel carburetor reworked for better performance & the timing adjusted for higher altitude where I live, a better fuel regulator valve with gauge installed for better fuel management, and a Class III receiver hitch mounted. I do want to mention a slight ding in the passenger side panel (see pic) about the size of a pencil eraser that chipped the paint a bit and some tint on the rear glass that got scratched due to a trim retainer that won’t stay seated and keeps popping out of place. Can’t really see missing tint from the outside at all.
This rare classic 4x4 has had a lot of work done and almost all of the common problems with old Jeeps have been resolved. I doubt you’ll be able to build anything close to this for what I’m asking. This thing is a beast. It’s a metal, heavy duty, V-8 powered vintage 4x4 with a bark. Dual exhaust lets people know you’re coming. Many people comment how cool it sounds as the cam lopes and it sounds bad ass.
Accompanying this auction will be a color photo catalog showing detailed pics of the Jeeps restoration, all of the receipts of the parts installed and work done, a Haynes Service Manual, and some extra small parts, as well as a full sized spare wheel (see pic)
You can easily tell a lot of love has been given to restoring and maintaining this Jeep into what you see today. It’s definitely a head-turner and gets lots of compliments and I have enjoyed driving it.
Now try getting all this detailed information about your next used vehicle from a car salesman. Ha! This thing is ready to go for you to enjoy as is……or go crazy with and deck it out.
