1966 Chevrolet Caprice 4-Speed Additional Info:

As to myself, I am a (69) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I am retired from managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback that is at 100% with (1,235) transactions. Many of my transactions have been muscle cars, which I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, England, France, Switzerland, Germany, Australia and the Netherlands. My reputation for honesty is well known amongst muscle car lovers.

Just some quick history on the 1966 Chevrolet Caprice

First offered as a sport sedan option in 1965, the Caprice became its own luxury series in 1966, with a host of accessories. Similar to the Impala in four-door hardtop and six- and nine-passenger station wagons, the two-door hardtop had its own formal roofline.

The Caprice line was aimed at Ford's LTD, and 181,000 Caprices were sold in 1966, excluding station wagons.

Chevy Caprice name was introduced in mid-1965 as a luxury trim package for the Impala four-door hardtop. A year later, it became its own model line consisting for a 4-door hardtop, a coupe, and a 6- or 9-passenger station wagon. The Custom Coupe had a formal roofline while the station wagons had special wood-grained body-side trim. The four-door hardtop Sport Sedan had a bench seat in the front with Strat-back front seat being offered as optional equipment. The interior was done in plush cloth. Vinyl or cloth was available in the two-door coupes while the station-wagons were given all-vinyl interiors.
On the exterior, the Caprice had its nameplate on the front fender and deck. There were wraparound tail-lamps with bright horizontal ribs, Caprice wheel covers, roof rear quarter emblems, and wide ribbed body sill moldings.

Engines ranged from 283-cid, 327-cid, and 396-cid V-8s, with a 390-hp 427-cid option at the top.

I have tons of photos and a video I can send to serious people:

This 1966 Chevrolet Caprice that I am selling here today belongs to a friend. This Impala is not mint but is a good driver quality car. With a 454ci and a 4-speed, this Caprice is a weapon. Add the working factory in-dash tachometer and mostly rust free body and you have a wicked nice muscle car.

The bottom line is that this 1966 Chevrolet Caprice is not perfect by any means but the asking price is within the range of the average hobbyist and would be a great entry level vehicle into the muscle car world.

The heater motor is not working.

Engine: 454ci engine that has been rebuilt. (Unsure when). Has power steering and headers. Very healthy engine with tons of power.

Trunk; The trunk looks very good. No spare, jack components or trunk mat.

Undercarriage; Very clean and virtually rust free undercarriage. Newer dual exhaust. 10-bolt rear axle. I believe it is a Muncie 4-speed transmission.
