1942 Willys MB Jeep Additional Info:

1942 Willy’s Jeep with Trailer. $37,500. Terry866-733-4451. With Trailer. Rate Tow Bar and canvas Convertible Top. The 1942 Willys MB, formally known as the U.S. Army truck, 1/4-ton, 4×4, command reconnaissance, was a highly successful American military vehicle in World War II. Over 600,000 were built from 1941–1945 for the U.S. and Allied forces. Features: Four-wheel drive, fold-down windshield, 50+ hp engine, 1,300 lb minimum weight, capacity for three people. Significance: The world's first mass-produced four-wheel-drive car, and highly adaptable for various uses. It could be modified for desert patrols, snow plowing, and even run on railway tracks. Selection: The Willys MB was chosen over the Ford GP and American Bantam BRC 40 designs due to its powerful “Go Devil” engine. The final design incorporated the best features of all three models. Legacy: The MB was converted into the CJ-2A, the first civilian Jeep model, which was a big hit with farmers. General Dwight D. Eisenhower considered the Jeep one of the three tools that won World War II.
