1960 M38A1 Military "jeep" -This Kaiser Willy, truck, utility 1/4 ton was the "jeep" used by the US Military from 1952-1971. This vehicle has a clear Pennsylvania title. This M38A1 uses a waterproof 24 volt system heavy duty making crossing streams possible. The original 24 volt system has not been modified. Two 12 volt in-series batteries, their original cables, “T” ignition post, floor-push pedal ignition, voltage regulator, starter, generator, internally housed points, condenser, cap, wires and sealed plugs are all in working order. The vehicle starts, runs and drives. The brakes, clutch, transfer case, HI/low trans, linkage cables, emergency brake, steering gear, suspension and military tires are all are in good working order. The throttle, choke, crankcase vent handles and cables operate as designed. An aftermarket fuel pump, regulator and hoses were added by a previous owner however the original fuel pump, hard lines, fittings, mounts and cables were left in their positions: disarmed. A new fuel tank was purchased but not hooked up. I have run it through all three forward gears in both high and low and reverse as well. The Borg Warner T-90 operates well. This is a Dutch Army NEKAF with that nation’s ”Koninklijke Landmacht” modifications intact:.The NEKAF conversion has a decades long service record and was the version Kaiser contracted and crated overseas and is identical to the one used by the US Military with the addition of aHolland brass radiator, auxiliary power outlets inside and out, the ‘guarded’ side mounted marker lights, blackout lights and speedo in Kilometers........MOTOR specifications: This 134 cu in Hurricane 4 cylinder engine compression tests low. The motor runs but should have a rebuild: perfect for a genuine military vehicle restorer. I have videos of this vehicle operating. Also included is an Army M-222 signal generator w/canvas cover, whip antenna, antenna mount, and an unrelated handset. The original working canvas top (good ; dirty but no rips or wear spots. All snaps and fasteners function. The rear window is in excellent condition), folding frame, support bars with all straps intact installs as designed. A Jerry can, mount and a rear mounted spare are included. The seats front and rear are original. Spares include new fuel lines for an original fuel system, a new primer-ed tank, an additional 24 volt generator, fording hose, 2 new drive belts, new under-fuel tank felts, grease tubes, wheel cylinders, extra side mirror and arm, wheel chocks, hydraulic jack etc.Corrosion exists at the side panels, below the spare tire, with some at the rear floor behind the tank. An experienced restorer has inspected the vehicle and stated the body is nice and solid and all existing corrosion is basic and easily reparable. Everywhere else: the hood, (an original shovel is mounted beneath), fenders, windshield, grill, interior front floor, rear deck, wheel wells and dash (some corrosion lower left) are in good condition.Contact the seller with any further questions including location and pick-up options. Vehicle is located in Eastern New Jersey.
