For sale is my CJ3B Willys flat fender Jeep that is stretched to CJ6 length. Below is a lot of info, so please take the time to read it .
I call it a CJ6B (CJ3B body at CJ6 length).I don’t use it much anymore and I have other projects that could use the space and money.
Specs:
• Body, title, VIN, VIN plate, and original black California plates are from a 1960 Willys CJ3B. Clear title and current registration, both in my name. Tub is stretched behind the door openings; seats 4 adults. It sits on an early CJ6 frame. The wheel base is about 104”. Plenty of leg room & head room all around as opposed to the typical flat fender jeep.
• Engine: Buick V6 225 odd-fire, about 8,000 miles on it since rebuild by previous owner; new battery, aluminum 2 core radiator, electric fan, heavy flywheel known for allowing low rpms and good crawling
• Transmission: Ford truck T-18, w/ 6.32:1 low granny gear, 4 speed manual
• Transfer case: Scout Model 20 twin stick with a 3:1 Tera low kit
• Front axle: International Scout 2 Dana 44, Chevy truck disc brakes, ARB locker, high steer steering/HD tie rod, 5.38 gear ratio, manual locking Warn hubs
• Rear axle: International Scout 2 Dana 44, Ford Explorer disc brakes with Lokar e-brake, Detroit hard locker, 5.38 gear ratio
• Tires: Five 34”x10.5”x15” Super Swamper TSL on 5 star chrome/steel wheels. Plenty of tread, but there are nicks and scuffs from wheeling in the rocks.
• Suspension: 4” Superlift soft ride leaf springs, Edelbrock Extreme Travel remote reservoir shocks; flexes very well and keeps the rubber on the ground.
• Seats: Front are grey Mastercraft high backs with rain covers and 5 point harness; rear bench seat is a grey Racetrim, 42” wide with removable headrests and two 5 point harnesses.
• Roll Cage: 1.75” diameter full family cage, bolted to the tub; has a nice & tight snap on shade cover
• Windshield is a vented windshield from a 1942 Willys MB or GPW. You can open up just the glass for a little breeze, fold it down, or easily remove it entirely by unscrewing the two wing nuts.
• Winch: Old school Warn 6000 sidewinder winch with synthetic line. Don’t let the 6k rating fool you. This winch gets it done. It has righted flopped Jeeps and pulled buried vehicles out of sand. It has a fast line speed.
• CB: Basic Midland 40 channel CB radio; drive-in speaker for external speaker; PA speaker under the hood; quick release antenna.
• On-board air: York compressor under the hood with a 2 gallon ViAir tank; plumbed to front and rear.
• Miscellaneous: Power steering, manual brakes (dual master cylinder), 12 gallon CJ5 steel gas tank with a heavy duty skid plate; swing out tire carrier, no top other than the snap on shade cloth, rear bumper has a receiver hitch; quick release removable steering wheel; thumb throttle; the lights work; the gauges work except for the cheapo tachometer isn’t wired, 2 gallon Rotopax gas can
Stuff to know about this Jeep:
It is being sold AS IS. This Jeep is my primary trail rig and thus the body and tires have the miscellaneous rock rash that you’d expect from a rig that actually crawls through rocks and over boulders, but I don’t abuse it. The 4WD all works. The crawl ratio is really low, about 100:1; great for the trails, but not so great for the street. It’s not suitable for highway driving. The 5.38 gears keep it from hitting highway speeds. The flexy suspension makes a twitchy ride at high speed. The good news is you could easily fit bigger tires under the trimmed rear wheel wells and flat front fenders and that would lower your street rpms some. Still – it’s a trail rig and it rides like one. If you need a vehicle to hop on the highway and take you to work every day – this isn’t the one.
Also listed for sale locally. $200 non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours. After that I can work with your schedule for pick up or loading it on a transporter, but let’s have it all completed within 30 days or I’ll need to move on to another buyer. Fair enough? I'm available to show the vehicle and for you to drive it. Contact me to set up a time.
