1959 Jeep CJ Additional Info:

Reluctantly selling my old buddy “Percival”. “Percival” is a ’59 Willys CJ-5, with an original 4 cylinder “Hurricane” engine, and 3 speed transmission with high/low 2/4WD transfer case. I had a new tub and fenders installed approximately 15 years ago, as part of a major restoration, performed by H.W. Welch up in Mountville, PA. The engine was rebuilt at this time. The jeep is 99% stock, and unscarred from the “upgrades” normally preformed on Jeeps of this vintage. Jeep has never been wrecked, etc.
The jeep has the following period-correct features/upgrades:•Warn overdrive•Ramsey PTO winch (yes this has the hard-to-find, NLA overdrive adapter)•16” wheels (4 wheels on the jeep are original, the spare is a repop from Walck’s)•4.27 axles front and rear with Power-Lock limited slip•Kayline spare tire carrier with 2 5 gal “Jerry” cans•Transmission and carburetor rebuilt in ’15•Seats recovered, with period correct style/color/material covers•Meyer Hard top – the later one with windows large enough you can actually see out of!!•New leaf springs installed last year (from Walck’s)•Lock out hubs•Heater
You will also receive my stash of Jeep manuals (including original owner’s manual), parts, etc. I have an extra exhaust system (minus muffler), extra generator and some other bits and bobs. A gun rack and seatbelts were installed (this was my hunting/fishing rig).
The tires on it are 235/85/16s, and a bit wide – if I were to do it over, I’ve have put 215’s on it. They rub a bit when you crank the steering wheel all the way. At any rate, they are ready to be replaced, due to age more than wear. The jeep still has the vacuum-powered wipers on it (with the optional passenger side wiper!) and could use some cleaning, and fresh lubrication. Most importantly, it needs a new owner to drive him more than I have the past 10 years. The battery is about 2 year old.
