I bought this 1951 MC38 Jeep from a older gentleman in western Iowa a few years ago to add it to my collection of classic car and trucks. He had owned it prior to myself purchasing it around 10 years. He was only selling it as his knees were starting to become a issue for getting in and out of it. He actually had a step made that I pictured on the side of the jeep (it just hangs on the side) to help him get in and out of it ( I pictured it on) He only drove it in local memorial day parades and ...4 th of july holidays. This jeep was his passion and I could tell it really bothered him to let it go. I got it and kept it in my showroom and also used it in parades and parking in front of my dealership during nice summer days. This Jeep has to be one of the most appreciated cars or trucks in my collection by other people. I have had everyone from veterans to car collectors love it and tell me stories about how they drove one in service etc and how well the restoration was done. It retains everything originally that was on it while in service (the best I can tell) and is still the 24 volt system. The seats are good and support well and the top is in great shape. I always left it up when I had it other than lowering once or twice. The side curtains are in great shape and I have been told that they are very hard to come by. This jeep has the option to ford it etc. all of the switches and gauges are working. I have driven it around town, probably fastest i ever went was 45 mph. It drove great ad handled like a 51 M38 should. The clutch shifts all gears great. brakes work great. the lights are working good. All of the tags are there as pictured and match the modern title ready for you to register it. It comes with lots of books, owners manual, receipts etc (pictured) When the restoration was done, the previous owner found brand new 1951 military tires he put on. they still look great. This Jeep has lots of extras like the headlight rings, black out taillights, extra fuel container installed on rear. Good spare. shovel on the side. Neat stuff! again watch the video as it does a great job showing you what the jeep is. This is a jeep, in my opinion, that you will be very happy with the overall condition of it. It starts great whenever I move it, it usually takes a minute to warm up and run perfect, may be less then a minute. If you have any questions at all please call and I will do my best to answer them for you. I am only selling this Jeep as I am changing faces in my showroom, make a offer only if you intended to come through. This is too nice a jeep to play games! As everybody has their own opinion on what a classic should be, I recommend coming to inspect the car here in my showroom at teddy s auto sales, or hire ebay to do a independent inspection for you, (note this should be done before the auction ends and not after.) make sure to study the pics and video so you see what you are getting. I require a non refundable 200 dollar paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction end, if I do not get the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the jeep, I will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. I can help recommend shippers i have used in the past who have been very reasonable. If you have any questions at all, call me 563-562-0330 or 563-562-0330! thanks
