1960 Willys 4WD L6-226, WARN Overdrive
Nice daily driver, very original (L6-226 engine, T-90 transmission with original XFER case, generator, Carter YF carburetor, oil bath air filter, distributor with points / condenser). Tap the accelerator once, pull the choke, and it always starts. I drive this truck around town for almost every errand (turn signals, brake lights, high/low beams, interior lights, wipers, all work correctly). It is quieter than my previous Willys’s, and drives 45-50 mph effortlessly in Overdrive. 4WD works well with WARN hubs. The rear drive ration is 4.88, and it DOES NOT have POWR-LOK. I’m selling this Willys because I have another Willys in my sights. I have not rebuilt the engine, and I suspect it has never been rebuilt.

I have the original ignition switch with a single key (not installed)
The only bad things that I can think of are:
The cab roof on the driver’s side is dented (see photo)
The original ventilation with outside air and coolant control to the heater core was removed and replaced with an older heater. From the engine side firewall, they installed another-make heater mounting plate. It looks nice, but I don’t believe it should be on the truck.
The radiator has been solder repaired. It has’t leaked since I’ve driven the truck.
The passenger-side roof had some pin-hole leak-through that has been repaired. Most of the repairs are from mice excrement eating through the metal. The tool bays under the seat have both been repaired due to mice activity. Unfortunately, this was a true “barn find” when I purchased it.
The truck has many dents and dings from previous use. It has surface rust on all parts, but the rust is only visual, or “patina”. The frame, body and sheet metal are VERY sound. If you plan to buy this for restoration, body-work will be costly.
After a heavy rain, you will have a few spoonfuls of water on each side of the floor mats. The passenger-side window is cracked, but structurally sound.
It appears that the rear intake/exhaust manifold bolt was removed via the interior. Perhaps they had a clearance problem; I’ll never know.
I’ve always been extremely honest with the few cars I’ve sold. It’s a used truck and there may be more items that I’ve missed; but not intentionally.
