1973 VOLVO P1800ES “RESTORED GORGEOUS CAR, THE BEST ON THE MARKET!!!”
VIN: 1836363006686
The classic car gallery is proud to offer this stunning 1973 VOLVO P1800ES sport wagon. This car was restored in 1997 and has been driven less then 8000 miles since. The car remains in wonderful condition and may be one of the finest P1800es on the market today. The quality of this car is self evident. Both cosmetically and mechanically this car is amazing. The original 1800cc engine was rebuilt as was the 4-speed manual transmission (the overdrive works well). She has been upgraded with a modern Pertronix ignition and modern Sanden air conditioning. The engine starts and runs beautifully and the fuel injection is tuned to perfection. The air condition blows COLD!!! All mechanicals including brakes, suspension and shocks have been renewed. The original wheels in restored condition and the radial tires are new. This is a 6 owner car, and all ownership history is known; she has been in the P1800 registry since 1997. Originally sold new in Oregon, she remained on the west coast. The car has full documentation on all of the work between 1997 and 2015. She received a proper SEA GREEN (color 115-1) re-spray in 2011, including engine and glass removal, as well as the removal and replacement of all trim. All rubber seals and window moldings were replaced upon reassembly and remain fresh and pliable. The glass is original Volvo glass and is in wonderful condition. A new clutch was installed, and the suspension refurbished with new bushings, ball joints and sway bars. The underside is excellent and is clearly a west coast car. The floors and rocker panels are solid and sound. The engine compartment is well detailed.
Recent documented work includes but is not limited to;
engine mounts,New air condition system front and rear brake padsFresh repaint in proper original colorFull fluid change including brake, transmission and rear differentialNew belts and hosesThe car shows beautifully. The Sea Green paint is in excellent condition with deep shine and good luster. The HIDE LEATHER (code. 458-886) interior is likewise gorgeous. The leather seats are soft and supple and show little wear. The blue carpets are in near new condition. The dash is excellent (not a cap), and the door cards were redone in leather to match the seats. She has sound insulation under the carpets to quiet the ride. The interior trim, gauges and plastic show minimal wear and look excellent. All of the gauges work, as does the climate controls. The car has factory a/c upgraded with a modern Sanden compressor (chrome) converted to r134 and new reciever drier, condenser and evaporator. The AC blows cold!! The electrical system, including all the lights work as they should. This is a very crisp car. The motor starts well, runs smoothly and has good power and torque. The transmission shifts as it should, and the overdrive works well. The suspension is well sorted, and she doesn’t feel like an old car. The original manuals and restoration records are included, and in excellent condition. This car must be one of the nicest Volvo P1800es on the market today, and needs nothing except a proud new owner, this car is ready to go.
