1972 Volvo 142 S Additional Info:
This is a really cool looking old Volvo that seems like it would be a good project. I will describe it to the best of my ability but please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have about it and I will do my best to get you an answer. If you'd like better pictures of anything, I will also try to accommodate you.
This is a 1971 Volvo 142S 2 door 4 speed manual transmission. It was built in August of 1971. The car runs and drives. The odometer shows 96,346 but I am not sure if that is actual miles or if has gone around one or more times. According to the sticker under the hood the paint code is 109, which would make it Ocean Blue/Green. I believe this is the original paint. The upholstery code is 660-775 but as you can see from the pictures, the upholstery is in really great shape, which leads me to believe it has been reupholstered.
As shown in the pictures, there is some rust in spots, like in the driver's side door at the bottom and in the spot where the side view mirror would go. (also, both of the side mirrors are missing). The worst spots are at the bottom of the doors and under the hood up by the windshield. The turn signal reflector on the driver's side is also missing. There are also a few parts and pieces missing on the dash and steering wheel. The dashboard has a few cracks but is really not too bad. This car also originally had silver trim running on each side and as you can see from the pictures it has come off on both sides.
That is all the details I have for now but I will add anything else that I can think of and I will answer any questions that come up from potential buyers. Overall, it is not in bad shape for the year. It would probably look a little better if I would have vacuumed it and cleaned up the dash a little.
Please email with any questions. This car can be seen in Irmo, SC by appointment.
