1973 Volvo Other Additional Info:
This is a great vintage Volvo project!
Drivetrain:-This car runs and drives.-4 wheel disk brakes work great-Clutch is in great shape and 4 speed manual transmission shifts well-Electronic overdrive works!-Original radio with speaker still in working condition.-All 4 primary fuel injectors just refurbished by WitchHunter performance. I have the documentation from them where they were flow tested.-Fuel injection is intact and works as it should with the exception of the cold start injector. The car is very hard to start when it's cold out and takes time to warm up, so I'm assuming there is an issue with the cold start injector. It runs rough until it's warmed up. Once warmed up it runs and drives well. However, please keep in mind this car has been off the road since 06, when it went to the bodyshop. I would suggest at the minimum new tires, tune up, belts, and hoses before attempting more than a quick test drive.
Exterior:This car was taken off the road due to tree limbs falling on it during a storm in 2006. It was taken to a body shop where they started in on the repairs to the dents from the tree limbs, as well as some rust that developed over the years. The body shop work was not very good and ultimately the car sat unfinished. This was a one owner car up until the point I took ownership. There is minor rust in the doors, 1/4s, and rear lower tail panel, but the floors and trunk are solid. The paint is obviously a problem because the bodyshop started sanding on it for the repairs and never completed them. There are dents in the hood, left front fender, and right rear c pillar. The front bumper is off, but I do have it. The mounts on the bumper itself are broken and will need to be repaired.-The tires are ancient. It will need tires before really being roadworthy. Luckily, new tires in this size are cheap!
Interior:-The interior is VERY original. The seat upholstery is faded in some areas, but there are no rips or tears and it shows like a 74k mile interior would.-Dash is cracked.-Some of the vinyl on the door panels is cracked.-Gauges, radio, speaker, hvac controls are all in place and original.- The odometer does not currently work. When I brought the car home and got it running I made the mistake of resetting the trip counter and since then the odometer has not worked. Now the car has covered less than two miles since then, just miles to test it's operation, so the mileage is still very accurate.
Overall I feel this will make someone a really nice project that, with just a little work, they could drive and enjoy while working through the cosmetic issues. I'm only selling because I finally came to the realization I have too many projects am doing myself no favors trying to complete them all.
I am able to assist shippers in loading/unloading and am willing to ship internationally.
