Here we have a 1980 Volvo 262c Bertone coupe with 104k miles. This car is a Rare survivor that is in good shape for it's original condition. The vehicle is sporting a factory Volvo 4 Cyl. engine that is a smooth runner and does not smoke or burn oil. The transmission is a 4 speed automatic that shifts firmly and works properly. The frame and floor pans are in good shape with no rust or rot. All 4 tires appear to have around 75% tread and go down the road smoothly. The suspension has been checked over and is tight. The brakes work properly and have good rotors and pads left. This vehicle has stood the test of time as the body and paint are in very good condition for being 36 years old. It could use touch up paint work as there are a few areas bubbling in the paint and surface rust around some of the trim pieces and bottoms of the body panels, ut there is no rot and will clean up with minor spot repairs. The interior is in good presentable condition but does have 2 small cracks on the dash, 4 inch cut in the headliner where it appears somebody tried to fix the sunroof through, small tear at the very top of the back seat most likely caused by the sun, nd a few small cracks at the top of the drivers door panel caused by the driver resting his arm on top of the door panel/ out of the window. Other than that the interior is in good condition, s the leather is still soft and not all dried up with a good conditioning and some minor upholstery work the interior could be brand new. All interior pieces are accounted for and nothing is missing, he original floor mats are all still there and in excellent condition. The carpet is clean with no tears or noticeable fading. Both power windows work properly but the sunroof doesn't open, he motor engages when the switch is triggered but does not attempt to open the sunroof. The car is missing one center cap on a rim but the other 3 are accounted for and in good shape. The rims are in good shape and have zero curb rash or peeling. This vehicle is loaded as it came with every option the 262c offered in 1980 (rear demist, ir conditioning"it works", eated passenger seat, ptional overdrive connected to a switch on the dash that works properly, ower antenna, unroof, way adjustable front seats, tc..) you name it this car has it. Original MSRP for this vehicle was $17,345 in 1980!!! They only made 6,622 Bertone coupe's worldwide in the short time period from 78-81 and only 1,920 in 1980 making this a diamond in the ruff that is only going to go up in value as time goes on. I would not be afraid to fly into town and drive this gem home as it sails down the highway at 70 beautifully. I do have a lot more pictures if your interested i can email them to you. The ad only allowed me to upload 12 of them. The car can be seen locally in North Tonawanda Ny and feel free to ask any questions if you have them. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as the vehicle is still for sale locally. I will deliver the vehicle up to 250 miles at $1.00 per mile, ocal pick up, r you can arrange shipping. Thanks happy bidding! |
