1970 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Additional Info:
This is a great, very original Campmobile. I bought this bus 5 years ago from the 2nd owner who bought it from a friend in 1978. The low mileage and good condition is largely due to the fact that he only used the bus for weekend family trips to local state parks and stored it in a garage in the winters. I believe the odometer is correct at less than 50,000 miles, but cannot guarantee. I have used the bus very little since I drove it from Minneapolis to Utah in 2011. The engine runs just fine, but could use servicing (maybe a valve job) before any long trips. The tires are new.
This is a really fun vehicle, but some financial needs require me to sell.
The best thing about this bus is how original it is. I do not believe there are any missing parts. The camper canopy, top cot, and front child's cot are in great shape. The curtains were made by the previous owner, but I have the original curtains in a box. I also have the very rare factory-option removable vestibule tent. The tent has one small tear and could use a cleaning, but is a pretty cool option.
The bus has not been restored, but is great original shape. It has the usual wear and tear on the seats and cushions. The radio wiring was not connected when I bought it and I have not fixed this. I believed that there were no body repairs, but just this year noticed what looks like a body repair on the sliding door (see picture), but might just be a paint issue. I cannot find any rust other thansome small spot of what I believe is surface rust. It is a great bus and with a little work will be one of the best.
