1965 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Additional Info:
Selling my 'baby'..1965 Volkswagon Karmann Ghia convertible. I've owned it since high school, over 23 years. I've done a lot of work and dumped a ton of money into it to get it in the condition it is in today. It is almost a completely finished project, but I don't have the desire to finish it anymore. Here is a breakdown of what I've done to it:
Rebuilt engine; a 1600 dual port with less than 300 miles on itBrand new interior, less than a month oldBrand new carpet throughout, done at the same time as interior; including door panelsBrand new rubber seals throughoutBrand new rims and tires, driven only around the block, literallyBrand new convertible top (black top with white liner)Brand new parking brake bootShaved door handlesNew batteryNew convertible top storage hoodHad the rear wheel wells professionally widened to accommodate a bigger wheel if desired and the license plate housing recessedProfessionally painted several years ago
Now for the stuff that still needs to be done or fixed:
The driver's side door has 2 blemishes. I shined a super bright LED light on them and took pictures. They are not as noticeable in person and are hard to see which is why I lit them up. The driver's side fender has a small crack in the paint at the bottom; also took picture with LED light. There are some missing components in the dash (like no radio), see pics. The engine has a very small oil leak in the rear main seal, it does not affect the integrity of the engine, it's just a little annoying to me as I'm a neat freak. I had the door handles shaved with the intention of installing remote openers but never got around to it. You have to reach inside and open it. No mirror on driver's side door. No tail light covers, though the lights are present and working. No front turn signals. No rubber seal around engine compartment.
I have parts for the car that I will include:
Chrome push bar bumpers for the rear or front..up to you where you install themkarmann ghia emblem (it's the original, not a reproduction)misc. seals and various other parts
This car is beautiful, turns heads and starts conversations wherever it goes. If you don't like attention, then don't buy this car! The paint on this car is so shiny, it was hard to take pictures without getting reflections of all the stuff in the garage.
This car will be listed on other sale sights as well and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if there are no bids. Questions? Email me!
