1969 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Additional Info:

1969 Volkswagen VW Beetle Rolls Royce kit car. This is a solid car with very little rust. There is a small rust spot below the right rear window (see pics) and a few small soft spots under the landau roof and that is all the rust I have found on the car. I am guessing the soft spots on the roof were caused by water infiltration through the vinyl over the years. There are maybe two 4-6 inch diameter soft spots that I can feel.
The floor beneath the battery has corroded away and was replaced some years back by someone else with a piece of 3/8" plywood. The area under the battery is solid, but you may want to cut that area out and spot weld a new piece of steel.
It was running when I bought it last year and I drove it around on the seller's farm. It had been stored in a barn for many years.
The paint is fair and has scratches and chips. The body is solid, except for one small damaged area on the front left fender and that is just a small crack.
The front Rolls Royce grill is in need of re-chroming. Also, the chrome accent strips that run down the sides of the vehicle have been removed and I have purchased new material to replace them.
Photographs show tinted windows on sides and rear, but I have scraped the tinting off because it had deteriorated badly.
I had planned to drain the gas tank, flush the fuel lines, and put new gas in it, but have not done so. I did remove the battery when I got it home and we can reinstall the battery and try to restart it upon purchase.
It is a 4 speed manual transmission and the odometer shows 33,593 miles, but I cannot be sure that it is accurate or if the odometer even works, although I do know the previous owner towed it to car shows.
Comes with roof rack and tow bar and this vehicle tows very easily.
This is a good solid project car if you're looking for a piece of history and a fun conversation piece.
